8/10
Solid film, indeed. Terrific performances & very good screenplay w/ a few twists & social themes that kept it from being another by-the-numbers heist film.

I really liked it until the twist reveal, which I hated. After that the movie started doing a lot of things I didn't like. It's a shame, because I thought it had a lot of promise up until then. My overall rating would be C+.

And why the hell does it have a 60% audience score on RT? C'mon now.

And why the hell does it have a 60% audience score on RT? C'mon now. 'cause it's a well shot, well acted movie that would have benefited from being a TV mini series. Two hours left the characters very underdeveloped.

6.5/10.
Its kinda boring and the payoff is underwhelming. Twist is forced to add some wow factor to an already stale movie.

5/10. McQueen is one of the most talented and distinctive filmmakers to emerge in recent years but, at best, this is watchable schlock with variable acting.
