France : Lloris; Jallet, Koscielny, Umtiti, Kurzawa; Tolisso, Kanté, Rabiot; Mbappé, Gameiro, Griezmann. Spain : De Gea; Carvajal, Ramos, Pque, Alba, Busquets, Koke, Isco, Iniesta, Pedro, Morata.
This match will be the second friendly that France have featured video referees.
France 17/10 Spain 13/8 Draw 11/5
Elsewhere, Martin O'Neill gives loads of debuts for Ireland's clash with Iceland. And Italy turn out a youthful side as they take on a Holland side fresh from losing Danny Blind as its manager. And Ronaldo starts for Portugal versus Sweden.

Holland's game with Italy was delayed by five minutes after Clarence Seedorf, in true Podolski style, took to the pitch to address the crowd. It seems he was being officially retired, aged 40, nine years after he played his last game for Holland.
Does Southgate harbour plans for a similar bash for Waynetta, I ask myself.

yeah, lets see if they care (spain normally take these very easy )
but against a big team- maybe they will come to life , but then again recent performance since the dominance has been poor.
I see so many young talents in/from france that they will be fighting for places .. I can see them having the best squad come russia.
I am gonna go for quite an easy french win - 2-0

kante playing over pogba - good.
Pogba is golden proof - that if you have a hair cut, a cut of jib, a bit of cheekiness, a decent style, a decent look, a big mouth, a social media fanatic, it pays...
kante has done it the hard way - on the pitch.... where it counts...

No disrespect to Portugal - but kante would have done the job in the final...(2016)
he won the PL but it wasn't for a fashionable club and he is quiet - so media/fans pick the team....

kante has done it the hard way - on the pitch.... where it counts... Yes, and in my eyes Kante should have got Man of the Match over David Luiz in the 1-1 against Liverpool. He's a tireless grafter. Something like 14 or 15 successful tackles in that match, but Luiz won the award, probably for that cheeky quickly taken free kick.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has potted as Portugal lead Sweden 2-0. Holland losing 1-2 to Italy after taking an early lead. Ireland one down to a curling Bjorgvin free kick for Iceland.

ronaldo scored - some things never change -
holland losing at home.... this will keep them down in the dumps (i have no clue what is going on with them - to be honest i just think they are at a very low point of quality , but trying to play the way 'holland' are expected to play...) - ok its italy - so in normal circumstances its just a friendly - but the losing mentality is retained.

You just can't get away from the Wenger Out brigade, can you? Earlier today, New Zealand beat Fiji 2-0 in a World Cup Qualifier. The stadium capacity is 35,000 but the attendance was just a few hundred, making this banner all the more noticeable.A single banner at the NZ v Fiji qualifier today.

Asernal fans are still so apathetic... But they are from all over the world - a cheeky flag hear or there.... well its not gonna stop him staying.
But Arsenal will not get a top 4 this year
how many people have said that before me over the last 10 years?
billions?
but surely not again..
surely...

Nothing doing goal-wise in France. Two shots on target each. Meanwhile Argentina will shortly be kicking off in their WCQ versus lowly Bolivia. Argentina will be missing the suspended Messi and are returning to the hugely elevated La Paz stadium where they have lost 5 times in 6 previous visits. Aguero has been dropped and it's a case of oxygen masks at the ready for those who did make the starting Argentina line-up.

You know when you watch a film or TV show and see an actor playing a professional footballer, and when they kick the ball it doesn't quite look right, like you can tell they haven't played football past about school level. Well occasionally when I watch Pogba, I see the same thing, occasionally! Although that isn't the big concern with Pogba, just an observation I've had.

Greizemann has his goal ruled out for offside. What the human ref giveth, the video ref taketh.

Ronaldo was posing on the pitch with the Euro2016 trophy before kick off, but he is not smiling now as Sweden pull it back to 2-2 with five minutes left on the clock. Meanwhile Koscielny gives away a penalty in France and Silva converts with consummate ease on '69.

Sweden complete the comeback in the third minute of injury time. Final score Portugal 2 Sweden 3. More video drama in Paris as the ref again consults the man behind the screen but this time allows the Spanish (Deulofeu) goal. 0-2. Ireland are sunk by Iceland 0-1. Holland's woes continue at the hands (or feet, I should say) of Italy (And Bolivia have just taken the lead versus Argentina at the stadium in the sky)

Argentina go down 2-0 in Bolivia and with Chile off to a flyer against Venezuela (two-nothing with ten minutes gone) and with Colombia currently winning 2-0 in their game, Argentina (22 pts) could find themselves falling to a mere play-off position (5th) with Colombia (24 pts if win) going third and Chile (23 pts if win) moving into the automatic qualification 4th spot.

Brazil is mathematically qualified to the 2018 World Cup. Yes, in March. Indeed. After an average start to their campaign they seized the group by its neck and have won their last eight qualifiers. The bookies have priced them up at 7/1 to win the World Cup trophy.
Germany 5/1 France, Brazil 7 Spain 9 Argentina 10 Belgium, Italy, England 16 Portugal, Colombia 25 Russia 33 Holland, Uruguay, Croatia 40 Chile 50 Mexico 66 USA 80 100/1 Bar

I don't know which one, but I said the same before the Euros that an outsider would win it and Portugal ended up winning it. I don't think there is a country that is particularly dominant at the moment, so it becomes a bit of a lottery.
