After 37 years on the professional tour Jimmy White goes to the World Championships needing a good run through the qualifying rounds to maintain his professional status.
There is no single potter in the game better than this guy.
C'mon Jimmy, one last time!

i dunno mate - Ronnie , Higgins(alex) and Williamson can all single pot as well imo..
however I would give him one thing over all others - cue power. he could banana screw at a quarter ball angle back to bulk without touching the sides,
its all well and good potting a tough red or colour but you need to get on the next ball. This fella could , just sadly not when it really mattered...

This fella could , just sadly not when it really mattered... Yeah, I agree with most of that. You could chain me to a snooker table for 10 days and I wouldn't be able to pull off that pink to black shot he does at the end. The problem as you say, was he didn't quite have that cue ball on a sixpence when he was in amongst the balls like Ronnie and Hendry had. Too many careless shots, too many times he snatched a shot under pressure. But almost every World Championship he was guaranteed to win the shot of the championships (and probably number 2, 3, 4 and 5 as well). Could Hendry not have just let him win one world final? Bastard!

As opposed to losing his bottle, which he's done many times.

Meh, he's had a good innings. Time to retire methinks.

Meh, he's had a good innings. Time to retire methinks. I don't think he'll ever retire, not unless he wins the world championships or is physically unable to lift a cue. And I can understand it, we can probably all relate in some way or another when we've persisted with something where others perhaps didn't think we would succeed. Maybe we got there, maybe we didn't, but something in the back of our minds probably told us "I can still do this". If you don't try then you'll never know, and I suspect somewhere in the back of Jimmy's mind he still believes. Sure it is harder now than ever, sure he is a lot older, but you know what, I still believe in you Jimmy! Never quit, never surrender.
