The SEC teams aren't the only guilty parties, other have done this. Bottom line, American League teams can't schedule Eastern League teams. This bullshit shouldn't be allowed either. Right. That's the end of the issue, for me. It's not one iota more nuanced than that despite the argument that it helps the smaller schools financially. If that's really the case, invite the Citidel to drive (fly? I don't even know where the fuck the Citidel is, but get them) out to Tuscaloosa in May and scrimmage the Tide and charge people money to come see it. There's your revenue, and the game is ostensibly an exhibition. I don't have any problem with, say, UGA playing UMass; they're a FBS team. (However, their opening weekend win against Austin Peay -- FCS -- should be stripped from the record books and their record adjusted downward one game.) But the incredible cynicism of plainly scheduling cupcakes prior to rivalry weekend is pathetic and cowardly, and SEC's "winning model for scheduling" should be reviled for the drizzling shits that truly is. Will the committee symbolically drop Alabama to #2 or #3 this to week to send a message that on-field play matters? Don't hold your breath. ETA: seriously, don't; this is a public health advisory!!!1 I’ve heard SEC apologists say these games are “all risk, no reward “, Paul Finebaum I believe is one. Alabama is expected to win by 70 and if it is less than a 3 TD margin, it hurts Alabama. Crap. Yeah if the Tide lost, their season is over. But any loss hurt now. And an upset isn’t going to happen. And they also say that the SEC teams would just schedule a bye this week and any game is better than none. Is it? Who the hell is watching Florida-Idaho other than fanatics, family and sadists?

Ugh. The look on Meyer's face says he knows they should be down three scores.

He’s just an average QB without Saquon behind him, he was able to put up huge numbers because the defenses were too focused on Barkley.
