People complain about how unrealistic Rocky IV is and one of the MAJOR flaws/complaints is the 3 knockdown rule.
In a sanctioned WBC match there is a 3 knock down rule and Rocky gets knocked down and punished so much during this fight with Ivan Drago.
However, upon inspection, the newspaper clippings say it's not a sanctioned fight, Rocky had to give up his world title, and this is just a match the two boxers agreed upon in Russia. There aren't any rules basically. The media covers the fight because it's a huge deal.
