Putting any of those bits of boring, one dimensional, hate mongering, trite crap would disqualify the list. The list is OFFICIAL. Sure, it offends the Beavis and Butthead crowd, but it sticks out as a classic list for that reason. The haters who love Leone crap make the most noise, and try to control everyone else, which is what makes their lists inferior. Lets see. Dollar trilogy. Everyone kills everyone else, except that there are demi gods who can't be killed or even shot in the back by mortals, and can only be defeated by other demi gods. Too traditional with their Greek heroes, and yet most of their fans are such morons that they call them "anti heroes". Case closed on those bits of waste. Worst thing is how they waste the inspirational music of Morricone on the most uninspired and non-credible characters in any Western ever. Oh I get it. You see that The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is loved worldwide and is critically acclaimed as a cinematic masterpiece, so you want to be that special enlightened rebel who has an opposite opinion rather than appreciate the movie's direction, cinematography, pacing, suspense and realism, all of which are superior to that of any western of its time and even today, with complex characters who look dirty and criminal like we're watching them in the actual old west, unlike in other westerns with clean-cut tidy characters who look like they're performing in a movie studio. Describing it as a movie where "everyone kills everyone else", misses the point. Okay then, enjoy your make-believe "official" list. That says more about the lunatics who acclaim it. The movie is about the deification of super control freaks, making them into demi gods, classical Greek heroes. Odysseus was a creep who purposely gets all his men killed and uses any excuse to do so. These three are the same dull one dimensional Greek heroes-demi gods. They have zero motivation other than just wanting to kill any human they can. You can get a million sickos to vote something as being great, but if it sucks, it sucks. The Leone Westerns just suck. Proof of how poorly this muddled mess is: watch the movie and try to make sense of it without already knowing. It's because of the following that it is also poorly directed, although mostly it is just poorly written. Nothing compared to most Westerns. Leone tries to feign realism with realistic sets, but the story and characters have zero realism, so it's the epic fail. How can there be suspense when it's impossible to relate to a single character? Answer: It isn't. I'm sure there are some bubble boys who think they are like these sickos, but any idiot who can relate to these three is proving himself to be a naïve idiot who couldn't possibly be like them. Hence, bubble boy. As if you haven't lost all credibility already, this proves you're just a troll. There is no realism at all in this. There were no demi gods in the old West. People could shoot back at a moron who thought he was a demi god. Bullets don't magically go around them. Everyone didn't spend all day shooting guns, wasting bullets, and killing everyone around. There would be nothing but scavengers in the old West and a human population of zero if that happened. you do mean "all of which are INFERIOR to that of any western of its time and even today", unless you're just trolling, which I'm sure you are. You continue to prove zero credibility in anything you say. The most one dimensional Hollywood stereotypes who ever showed up in movies. Making them look dirty only masqueraded this for the most feeble minded pot head and crack head at the time, and that still goes. It's the worst of both worlds. Horrible cinematography trying to make it look real, and the most unrealistic of characters and plots and events. You sure don't mess around when you troll, do you? Other Westerns had to choose often between good cinematography and telling the story, or making everyone so grungy that there was no way to tell who was who. Sometimes, the audience is supposed to wonder who is doing what, and sometimes it has to be made clear to them. The story and characters come first. As we have already proven, the Leone Westerns have no characters and no story that makes any sense.

The fact you didn't include any of Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy, let alone The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), officially disqualifies your list. I consider it kind of suspicious too, and you'll never catch me watching something as stupid as Beavis and Butthead. My tolerance has its limits and those guys just make me sad for being losers who waste their lives. Never got the hang of the show, but not having The Good, The Bad and The Ugly on a list of best westerns is just weird.
It was as weird for me as not a single Masaki Kobayashi film on that recently released top 100 foreign language films list.

No Rio Bravo...no El Dorado...no Eastwood...no Leone...I'll stick with the many un-official lists I think.

Focusing on the story rather than the actual things I mentioned about the movie that make it a masterpiece is what I meant by missing the point of what makes the movie great. I didn't say anything about the movie having a deep story. Renowned film experts the world over understand why The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is a cinematic masterpiece but everyone has an opinion and nobody's forcing you to remove the giant stick up your ass.

And this OFFICIAL list is now in the Library of Congress of the United States of America, replacing all other such lists, and certified as the OFFICIAL list to be in every time capsule from here on out.

I missed The Quick and the Dead the first time I read the list. That was dreadful. I even kind of liked it but still knew it was bad. That's just crazy that it's on the list.
