Personally I prefer a little bit of defense. Not saying 10-7 is ideal, but come on. You get up to go to the bathroom yesterday and you miss two touchdowns. Let me put it another way - how in the holy hell do you have Mahomes’ stat line from that game and lose? Congratulations Goodell, you now have Tecmo Bowl.

How are 8 sacks, 7 turnovers and 3 defensive TDs not even a “little bit of defense”? Sure, this game was largely about the incredible offensive firepower but huge plays were made on both sides of the ball.
Now Super Bowl 52, there’s a game with almost no defense.

If I heard the stat correctly, this is only the 2nd or 3rd time in NFL history where the losing team scored 50 points. Kinda nuts. We can have games like this, but if it becomes norm than that's no good. But I don't mind the range of great games encompassing the Giants beating the Pats 17 to 14 alongside the 51 to 54 game last night.

Those plays you cited must have had minimal impact if both teams were still able to exceed 50 points. As for Super Bowl LII, no, there was no defense in that game either until the Brandon Graham sack late in the 4th quarter. But my interest in that particular game is personal - the result was all I cared about rather than the style.

The good - great offensive play, Donald a beast on D, alternating leads, went down to the wire, I picked LA to win.
The bad - Booger, Witten, laundry all over the field and play stoppages, I wanted the Chiefs to win.
I'm fine with a high-scoring game if it's 2 excellent teams. But I sure wouldn't want to see, say, Bucs-Bengals

I believe Booger, or whatever his name is, said "welcome to the new NFL". Not sure I'm a fan, it was fun to watch, but Millar likes a little defense with his football.

This game had the highest over/under of all time - - and it went over by 41.5 points. ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/vdrisscd5/gonemad.gif)

Wonder how the bettors did. It was initially a 1 point spread and went up to 3 and 3 1/2 after the Mexican hat dance - Rams won by 3. Some bettors may have won on both sides if they took the Rams at 1 and then the Chiefs at 3 1/2.

Yes it was a good game. But I would hate to see this happen in every game. Although, it looks like that's the path we're heading down. The day of the "game managing QB" and "power running back" is almost over. Coaches are just going to want gun-slinging QBs and quick running backs that can catch the ball out of the backfield which is like adding another receiver to the game.
Ball control will become less important, the strategy will be to just score as quickly as possible. In fact, defensive secondary will become less important too. The emphasis will be more on pass rushers.
Ohh well, it is what it is. We'll see how teams start to adjust to the "new" style of NFL football.
