I'm watching Justice League on HBO.
Jesus, Wheedon messed this movie up so much. You can see this is a hack job.
Wheedon. Anytime Superman's lip looks CGi, Been Affleck is bloated, and the background is obvious green screen.
Snyder Cut the opening sequence, the Evil Superman fight, some of the final sequences before they confront SteppenWolf. The flashback battle that was cut into a montage (originaly a 30 minute badass battle like LOTR).
It sucks how amazing Batman looking for Aquaman looks then when he confronts Aquaman in front of the water it looks like an SNL green screen. It's jarring. Then Bruce recruiting Flash looks great, then cuts to obviously bloated Ben in front of a green screen. Nothing Wheedon directed looked good. Nothing. Elfman's score doesn't fit.
I'll NEVER forgive WB for this cheap CW looking half breed.

Don't know who did what scenes...there was not one stand-out scene regardless of who directed it

Don't know who did what scenes...there was not one stand-out scene regardless of who directed it From what I've read, Snyder had a 3.5 hour LOTR epic and only 55 minutes of his cut made it into this 2 hour cut. So you can't fairly assess Snyder's vision.

No Black Superman suit, no Alfred and Clark, no Supergirl hologram, no Iris West and Flash scene, the flashback battle with man, atlantians and Amazons cut to a montage ... Hmm, maybe Charles Roven is covering for the studio?!

The Russian family was a Whedon thing, but it totalled nothing near 15 minutes, and the CGI lip I wished was 10 minutes as it was the highlight of the film. Whether the other stuff was going to eventually be in the film or not who knows. A likewise if it would have made it better. If Snyder had directed some it still didn't bode well if we got his "vision" because all of it was crap. It still would have Steppenwolf and Cyborg in it so no improvement there.

Okay, let's say you're right (I don't believe you) but I'll go along with it for arguments sake. 80% of a 1 hour 55 minute film is like 100 minutes (or approx 1 hour 40 minutes). That doesn't mean he didn't shoot 3.5 hours or 210 minutes of footage and they only used 100 minutes of Snyder's film and Wheedon added 15 or 20 minutes of his cheaply made nonsesne to tie it together. That's still not the same as saying it's 85% Snyder's cut or vision.

And I can't imagine anything added would have made it any better. BvS wasn't exactly a great film...throwing in a terrible villain, and adding a sad crap robot, a Mutant Turtle in human form and an irritating speedster to the team I doubt would have made a better film, whether 10% or 100% Snyder

The way that Aquaman looks atm, I wish they pushed it back a couple of years and have him direct it. Or Patty Jenkins. The finished product itself is harmless imo but it’s inexcusable that WB put money and put politics before proper filmmaking. At the end of the day, it seems like that it’s just the Justice League we need rather than we deserve in light of how WB handled phase 1 of the DCEU.

I don’t know the exact changes Josh Whedon made or even what was meant to be in Snyder’s cut, but I’ll say this.
The thing I don’t like about JL is how cheap-looking it is compared to previous DCEU movies. It’s better than BvS and SS on a narrative standpoint, but the backgrounds (particularly in the firey realm or wherever they were battling Steppenwolf) look completely fake and clearly green-screened.
And the more I think about Cavill’s moustache CGI-ed out, the more it irritates me. Makes his mouth look bigger.

It really does not matter. The movie looked like crap. It was seriously some Scorpion King level CGI.

Bottom line: Once Snyder was out the whole movie should have been pushed back so that WHOEVER they got to take over had the proper amount of time. It even would've fixed the mustache problem.
Mission Impossible is notorious for fucking up super hero actors: Scott Dougray had been cast to star as Wolverine and he got pulled back to do re-shoots for MI2, so instead they had to recast with Hugh Jackman. Here Cavill agrees to return for re-shoots, but MIfallout wouldn't let him shave. And we all know how that turned out. Damn you, Tom Cruise!!!

In my earlier post, I meant I'd have been comfortable with either him or Patty Jenkins.

I think Jenkins is actually a good director, not just a director of blockbsuter type movies (see Monster starring Charlize Theron). We'll have to see with Wan, but so far it looks good.

The narrative that the guy who directed The Avengers ruined the movie of the guy who directed Batman V Superman never ceases to baffle me. Granted, cartoon-lip Superman and Bloatfleck are distracting, but the film was at least enjoyable vs the dour edgelord nightmares that came before.

I prefer Batman v Superman, Watchmen, and Man of Steel to any MCU film.

The movie would have been garbage either way. The only difference is that the Snyder cut wouldn't have looked so disjointed.
