I can’t speak for Venom since I haven’t seen it yet,
but is that really much of a problem? Star Wars came out in ‘77, so then that would mean
inflation would be at least over $3 billion today.
Inflation and other factors is what is important...
I am sure anyone can find a movie today that has made more "money" than many older films...
But... The real test of how good or popular a film is, is the cost of tickets factored in with the percentage of ticket sales as compared to the population at the time. (Just For Starters...)
Let's say... Just For example:
Any Population = 16,000,000 consumers
1950s Movie: $2.00 Ticket x (50% of any Population = 8,000,000) = $6,000,000 in sales
2010s Movie: $8.00 Ticket x (5% of any Population = 800,000) = $6,400,000 in sales.
Yes, technically, the newer movie made "More" money...
But as we all can see based on the variables that the statement is just pure BS...
Because we know the older movie, did far better, because a larger percentage of consumers saw the movie.
For all those people saying that "Venom Beat Star Wars"...
Show me the "Inflation", ETC. numbers, or shut the fuck up.
