Was Freddy ever less threatening then in this movie?
The premise - 10 years into the future, Freddy has killed all but one kid in Springwood. This leaves a town of adults that includes Roseanne and Tom Arnold. The film doesn’t ever bother to explain how our title character came back from part five.
“Nice hearing from you, Carlos!” is the best bit in the movie.
The video game sequence is pretty bad. “You forgot the power glove!”
The 3D effects. Damn.
Points for Johnny Depp’s cameo.

It’s a film that’s worth viewing for how ridiculously silly it is. Otherwise, the worst of the series.

I liked it when I was younger but now I think its pretty shitty. Freddy is just too damn silly. I like it when he has his sick sense of humor but this was too far. Plus I hated that he killed all the kids in Springwood. I guess Alice moved away.
I love 1-5 but Freddys Dead is by far the least of the series unless you count the remake.

Weak. I don't like it but I enjoy the first 5 pictures.

-Yikes, what a stinker overall.
-Carlos' (the deaf guy's) death was intense. One of the more brutal kills in the series for me.
-Seconded on the points for Johnny Depp coming back to return for a cameo. He could have been just a neighborhood guy or a bus driver or something, but the way he came back (won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen) was pretty entertaining.
-Overall, the movie is pretty forgettable. I hate that I mainly remember it for that terrible 'Power Glove' line. At least it gave us "New Nightmare" though...
-Big drop in quality for the Freddy makeup in this one. Or they showed him too much and in too much light. Either way, it looked a lot like pizza.

Very, very disappointing. There are some parts of the movie I don't mind and I liked the Goo Goo Dolls songs in it like the one below but I was annoyed they didn't bring back Alice and continue on from 'A Nightmare On Elm Street 4 and 5' 'cause Alice was my favourite character and from what Lisa Wilcox has said about it in interviews 'A Nightmare On Elm Street 6' was originally going to be a follow up to 5 with her returning to play Alice and then she got a phone call telling her they didn't need her to come back for it and I would have much preferred to have seen the follow up to 5 over this movie.
