Oh man, I really went out on this one. I have not picked up much movies the last couple of months, and I was very motivated to visit a few second hand stores and record store left in my city, not many of those but I rather have those few, than none. Anyway, to my pleasant surprise, it turned out that one of the best and most impressive second hand stores, which somehow have completely dodged me for years, and well, suddenly there it was. Probably the closest I can think of, as the "perfect" movie, music and comic book store, as I must have spent about 2-3 hours inside, and still felt like I had just seen the tip of the ice berg. So much to see, so little time, and well, I know one thing. It will not be my last visit, and I loved how much care and thought were put into the store and also that the people who owned it, seemed very nice and friendly, but also like they shared a lot of the same love as their customers. Have sadly not experienced that much lately, while browsing and visiting a few similar, but very small or pricy second hands shops, where I probably will not return ever again. Anyway, I cannot write about every single item, but damn, I felt like a kid in a huge candy store, and while leaving behind a lot of money, I know that with those friendly prices, great and varied collection of all kind of genres (lots and lots of my kind of movies and music), it would probably be ridiculous amount of money, if I had purchased them anywhere else, at least of that I know. Well, here is todays movies, music and books that I got hold of: Sleep Well Professor Oliver (1989) - VHS Hm, I thought this was a movie, but turns out (according to several places) that this is in fact a tv-episode, but it is released as a full length film with Louis Gossett Jr, Michael Rooker and Cynthia Nixon among the many notable names. Never seen, but it was a nice yellow big box rental release, and surprisingly the VHS tapes I picked up, were incredibly cheap, as I have noticed that in Norway, these titles, even lesser ones, as long as the come in Big Box style, the prices go right through the roof. Into the Sun (1991) - VHS Another big box rental cassette tape, which I also picked up, only because of certain names, and the cheap price. Damn, I love the smell of VHS rental store, which appear the very moment you open up the cover. Not sure if the film is much impress, but comes with quite a lively cast, where Anthony Michael Hall, Michael Pare and Terry Kiser is among the main crew, or so the cover says. Gridlock (1996) - VHS Another tv-movie, trying to be sold as an 80s action movie, starring David Hasselhoff, and well, along with Kathy Ireland that alone made me interested to see if it might be a enjoyable late night cheesy b-movie flick. Outrageous Fortune (1987) - VHS Another one, which I only went for, due to some noticable names, and because I have a certain "thing" for Shelly Long, not so much Bette Midler, but she can be quite funny, so I do hope it might be a positive surprise. If not, well, again, very cheap in price, and came with the Norwegian title of: Gjøk Over Gjøk aka Cuckoo Over Cuckoo, which I have not idea why they went for. Crime Story 2 (1986) - VHS And another tv-movie or tv-episode released as a full length film, under the alternative Norwegian title of: Gangster Bossen or The Gangster Boss. Again, Dennis Farina, Joe Polito, Darlene Fluegel, Stepen Lang and yeah, lots of familiar Michael Mann names and also Todd Rundgren doing the soundtrack. By the Sword (1991) - VHS Not sure what to expect with this one. Some says it is a drama-thriller, where the video cassette tries to sell it out as an martial arts/action film, almost like Highlander. Anyway, Eric Roberts and F. Murray Abraham stars, along with Mia Sara, so yeah, probably not a hidden gem, but will hope it could bring forward some fun. Vampires: Los Muertos (2002) - DVD I really enjoy the original film by John Carpenter, but either have I completly forgotten it got a sequel, or well, it seems like it tried to follow the same path as the direct to video release of From Dusk Till Dawn, but yeah, not expecting much, but cheap price and kind of want to see where it might go from here on. Such a shame the original cast, could not return along with Carpenter, for another ride. Save the Tiger (1973) - DVD Red Corner (1997) - DVD Escape to Witch Mountain (1975) - DVD Lifeboat (1944) - DVD Naked City (1948) - DVD The Whip and the Body (1963) - DVD The Father (2020) - DVD The Black Hole (1979) - DVD Batman: Death in the Family (2020) - Blu-ray Phantom of Death (1987) - DVD Desperately Seeking Susan (1985) - DVD Evilspeak (1981) - DVD The Train (1964) - DVD Pink Flamingos (1972) - DVD My Better Halves (2020) - DVD Spetters (1980) - DVD Walker (1987) - DVD Mindhorn (2016) - DVD Pump Up the Volume (1990) - DVD When We Were Kings (1996) - DVD Anna Holt: The White Knight (1994) - DVD Cutter's Way (1981) - DVD Sabata (1969) - DVD Pleasantville (1998) - Blu-ray Suspect (1987) - DVD Soul Man (1986) and 18 Again! (1988) - DVD Run (1991) - DVD No Small Affair (1984) - DVD The Accused (1988) - DVD The Big Easy (1986) - DVD Echoes in the Darkness (1987) - DVD Three Fugitives (1989) - DVD The Fourth Protocol (1987) - DVD Stormy Monday (1988) - Blu-ray Golden Ninja Warrior (1986) - DVD The Gladiator (1986) - DVD Eskimo Nell (1975) - DVD The Edge (1997) - DVD The Thin Blue Line (1988) - DVD Slaughter (1972) - DVD The Wild Angels (1966) - DVD Twilight Zone: The Movie (1984) - DVD The Black Cat (1934) - DVD Easy Money (1983) - DVD The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eight Dimension (1984) - DVD Ninja Terminator (1985) - DVD Eyes Without a Face (1960) - DVD Blastfighter (1984) - DVD The Man Who Killed Hitler and then the Bigfoot (2018) - DVD House of the Long Shadows (1983) - DVD Swamp Girl (1971) and Swamp Country (1966) - DVD Class (1983) - DVD The Island of the Fishmen (1979) and The Fishmen and their Queen (1995) - DVD Paradise Alley (1978) - Blu-ray Eve of Destruction (1991) - DVD Another one, which I have somehow never gotten around to see. Of course it has been put up (several times) on Youtube, but I kind of wanted to find a decent DVD copy, and well, hopefully I have. The artwork screams Paul Verhoeven sci-fi/action, all the way. And it does sound like a rather promising and fun ride. Street Trash (1987) - Blu-ray Another one, that I have a Synapse DVD of, but yeah, this rather solid looking 88 Films release just had to come home with me. Knightriders (1981) - Blu-ray Own the Anchor Bay release, but thought about upgrading it to this very nice looking Arrow Video Blu-ray edition. Always thought of it as one of the more underrated films of George A. Romera. Loved the story and characters, and that also Tom Savini put in such a big part as well. Armed Response (1986) - DVD Just gotta have this one with me, as the cover art, features a laughing Michael Berryman along with David Carradine and Lee Van Cleef. However, knowing the "masterful" Fred Olen Ray is behind it all, I am not so sure it will be that much fun. Relentless (1989) - DVD Finally I got this one, as I have been wanting to give it a go. Think it was Lostinlimbo who wrote some nice things about it, and the thought of Judd Nelson playing a murderous psycho, in a William Lustig film, with Robbert Loggia on his trail, well that sounds rather good to me. Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat (1990) - Blu-ray Part of the solid Vestron Video Collector s Series, and one I only got around to see, last year through Youtube. Enjoyed it quite well. A bit quirky yet fun wester-vampire style, with solid performances by David Carradine, Bruce Campbell and Deborah Foreman. Almost picked up The Wraith (1986) through the same release series, but since I already own two DVD copies of it, and these were part of an import series, I went for a film, I did not own. Might pick up the latter, later on, but yeah, it is fun and quite good, but not that good, that I need three releases of the same title. The Batman (2022) - DVD Went for the DVD, as I am not sure this film will be my kind of fun, but will give it a go, and hopefully it might prove me wrong. If not, well then it is not the end of the world. However, what is up with these godawful generic and just horrible looking DVD/Blu-rays artworks? Everything looks so damn random, but yeah, it is what is inside that counts, or so I hope. But 3 hours is a long time, and would not surprise me, if within a couple of months, another extended 4 hours release will be put out. Batman: The Long Halloween Part 2 (2021) - Blu-ray I was not exactly "thrilled" about Part 1, which I thought of as a bit of a let down, but maybe the second part is where they saved the best for last. One can always hope. Carnival of Souls (1962) - DVD Decided to pick it up, as I felt this could benefit with a second go, from my Halloween October watch, during 2020. Do Not Disturb (1999) - DVD I already own it on DVD, but this came with subtitles (Norwegian as well), and I always liked the over the top cheese it comes so much with, and also the lively and wild performances by Michael Chicklis, and yeah, the great use of Amsterdam city, specially during the night scenes. Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (1988) - Blu-ray Already own it on DVD, but this nice looking Arrow Video release, was surely too tempting, to let sit behind. Gator Bait (1974) and Gator Bait 2: Cajun Justice (1988) - DVD Only seen a bit of part 2, but always wanted to see both of these revenge exploitation releases, and hope they might live up to my expectations. Southern Comfort (1981) - DVD Well, I only got to re-watch this incredible film, a few weeks back. Did not love it as much when I first saw it, back in summer of 2015. But now, with another go, it suddenly felt like a whole new movie. Sadly, my old Norwegian DVD (must be over 20 years at least), did not provide a worthy picture and sound quality, and when I saw the 2012 Second Sight release, I felt maybe this one did it a bit better justice, or so I really hope. On the music front, it has been rather quiet for some time. I guess I have not really been looking for that, more movies and comics, but could not resist to give in, when I picked a some I have been on the look out for, quite some time, others I have only just recently been searching for, but never thought I would find them for such a cheap price, and in such great condition. The Church - Gold Afternoon Fix (1990) - CD The Church - Priest = Aura (1992) - CD The Church - Heyday (1985) - CD The Church - Remote Luxury (1984) - CD I fell in love with the album Starfish (1988) last fall, and sadly, it seems like many of the their earlier albums was almost "impossible" to find, due to many being out of production, and where some, like Heyday went for such high prices, that I thought the chances were small to find it for any less. So to my surprise, finding not just one, but 3-4 in the same shop, for the price of nothing. Well, that was hopefully one of the highlights of todays impulsive shopping. Joy Division - Closer (1980) - CD Already own the much earlier (probably a 1992 release) but the sound quality never really impressed me, so about time to upgrade (hopefully) for this 2007 double disc edition, which also comes with a bonus live disc. Brand X - Unorthodox Behaviour (1976) - CD The Last of the Mohicans Soundtrack (1992) - CD Once Upon a Time in America Soundtrack (1984) - CD Dances With Wolves Soundtrack (1990) - CD Midnight Express Soundtrack (1978) - CD Thin Lizzy - Nightlife (1974) - CD Backstreet Girls - Boogie Till You Puke (1988) - CD Kraftwerk - The Mix (1991) - CD Batman Returns Soundtrack (1992) - CD Death Wish 4 : The Crackdown/10 To Midnight/Murphy's Law/Tough Guys Don't Dance/X-Ray - CD This one, I was very happy to find. Never knew that the beautiful Arabella's Theme from Murphy's Law (1986), had been put out on a CD, but I just had to have it, only because of that. The rest, not sure what to expect, but seems like a Cannon Pictures movie score release, with a bit of "everything" from Charles Bronson, to slasher films and yeah, something for everyone. And one book, but a rather damn fine looking one as well: Film Posters of the 50s: The Essential Movies of the Decade (2001)I got a few of these books with huge and lovely movie posters from the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and up to the 70s, by my late uncle. This however, seems to be more of a mix of "everything" back then, and from classics to campy sci-fi cult films and then onto darker film noir releases, and every page is a nice memory of how great and most likely hard and creative work, were put into making these adventurous posters and art works, to help sell the film, to as many as possible. All in all, I did end up re-purchasing a few titles. Some I have "disowned/thrown out", not because I hated them, but maybe I just was not in the right mood, and well, those I got today, actually looks like far better releases, so hopefully some improvement might happen. Well, it might be some time until I do a bit of more movie shopping, but when you suddenly enter a whole new place, so damn full of everything, and yeah, my senses when completely berserk, and I loved feeling that way, as it has been so many years since that has happened when arriving a shop or store, which I have never been to, and if they continue on delivering these kind of interesting and varied films, I will sure be back, again and again. Maybe not overdoing it as today, but hell, it has been some time since last shopping round, and at least I do have some movies to look forward seeing this summer, so I sure hope it might be a pleasant run of hidden gems coming up. Quite a selection of films in that list. ‘Walker’ is probably the most curious of the lot. An interesting experiment by Alex Cox, which I don’t think entirely comes together. However Joe Strummer’s score is unforgettable. I thought ‘Armed Response’ was a decent low-budget action film by Ray. But I guess I give him a little more slack than most. The cast was good here, and the action was efficient. I remember being disappointed in the Gator Bait films. Really loathed the sequel. Look forward to see what you think of ‘Relentless’.

Some nice soundtrack pick-ups there. Especially ‘Hardware’. Likewise I Never knew it had a release. I think it’s the best thing about the film. also ‘Joy of Sex’ isn’t an easy one to come by. If I remember correctly it’s a Canadian sex comedy. always been curious of ‘All-American Murder’. I do have it saved on Tubi to watch. Have just recently gone through a few of the CD soundtracks, and yeah, Hardware (1990) is maybe not a great one, but it does actually provide a lot of the same atmosphere as withint the movie, where you have dialogue by Lemmy and Iggy Pop, along with some radio commercials and added lines, that kind of gives the listener a feeling of switching into some "weird" post-apocalyptic spaghetti-western radio station, that you just cannot tune out of, due to the enjoyable and sleazy material, along with some very cool and catchy tunes, like the PIL and The Order Of Death or Minstry with Stigmata. However, the Goblin score/collection of music from 1977 up to 2001 turned out to be a damn fun and very good listen, and while I still have to be on the look out for Suspiria and Deep Red (among many), I think this CD release is a very impressive collection, that has a great sound and almost feel like an original soundtrack, due to how nice the all flow into each other. The Black Rain (1989) score, sadly were kind of forgettable, beyond a few cuts by Iggy Pop, Greg Allman and Ryuichi Sakamoto, that and the Black Rain Suite by Hans Zimmer. I guess a more expanded version, with more focus on Zimmer and his work, is worth looking into, some other time. Quite a selection of films in that list. ‘Walker’ is probably the most curious of the lot. An interesting experiment by Alex Cox, which I don’t think entirely comes together. Yeah, it will most likely be a while until one ends up with going impulsive shopping like that, as painful as it is, it is was also a reminder that I will most likely be in for a lot of stinkers, but of course, hopefully also several winners. So I have decided to try and split them up, and not see everything all at once, just take one weekend at a time, and hopefully have something to look forward too. Yep, the Gator Bait (I will try to put in a few words in the action film thread later on) films turned out to be rather disappointing, as specially the sequel was almost unwatchable bad, and if not for a very sexy (in a kind of natural and next-door girl manner) the film would be a 1/10 for me. Part 1 however, I thought started up very promisingly, but after about an half hour, it just got stuck into a lot of the same boring scenes, endless chasing scenes, the annoying and never dying village idiots and cops, and also some scenes that were quite creepy or disturbing, but yeah, a very fine looking lead actress, but will probably not watch them again for a very long time. Dragged Across Concrete blu Wrath of Man blu Pet Sematary 1989 blu The Giant Claw/The Werewolf blu Taste the Blood of Dracula dvd Bad Girls 1994 dvd Gorky Park dvd National Lampoon’s Last Resort dvd Breakin’ dvd Embrace of the Vampire 1995 dvd Sullivan’s Travels dvd The Frankenstein syndrome dvd Two Moon Junction dvd Not sure if you have seen Two Moon Junction or not, but I do remember enjoying it very much back in the late 2020, and thought it was a far superior erotic thriller movie, rather than just some "random" sleazy and vulgar b-movie. The music, scenery and of course a stunning Sherilyn Fenn, all made up for a dreamy and almost feverish movie, that turned into quite a romantic drama-thriller, that I think will benefit from another visit.

Both were second hand discs from the same place. One wouldn’t play, and the other kept skipping.

Disappointingly I won’t be watching ‘Two Moon Junction’ (for the first time) due to it being a faulty disc. So got a refund for it along with another faulty disc ‘The Frankenstein syndrome‘. Both were second hand discs from the same place. One wouldn’t play, and the other kept skipping. Sorry to hear about that, and yeah, I feel ya. As the same thing happened with me, just last night, when I were supposed to be watching Armed Response (1986), and it did not want to play, no matter what. I decided to take a closer look, and yeah, Prism Leisure 2001 DVD copy. And even if the disc itself, looked brand new. Not a scratch or sign of any damage. It would not let me watch it, and I came to realize that I have experienced quite a few of the same similar "events", considering Prims Leisure, and their DVDs, specially from the early 00s. Either they would not play, or if they do, the might freeze/skip, several places, or just completely "break down", so if one is "lucky", you get to watch maybe half of the movie, but forget about the rest. And if you end up getting to see the whole thing through. Rest asure, there is still lots of other stuff, like terrible VHS "quality" in the picture and sound department, and I could go on, and on. Thankfully, I did manage to easily look the Fred Olen Ray film up, as it was put up a couple of months ago, on Youtube. Which came with a rather nice picture/image and sound quality, most likely superior to the DVD I got, which would not cooperate with me, and I guess these things were bound to happen, specially when I purchased so many films through Second Hand stores, even if they look brand new, we are talking about a terrible or just lousy DVD company, with a DVD almost 20 years old. So the lesson for me, until next time, is that I will not buy another film from that shitty DVD brand, ever again. Anyway, just a bit of venting out some frustration there, and all in all, I did not miss out (the DVD that is) a "great" film, as it turned out to be the usual Olen Ray "classic", only with more likeable and solid names, along with most likely a much larger budget to work with. Might write a bit of the film later on. Hope that you eventually get a good/playable copy of Two Moon Junction, as that one is a bit of a gem within the late 80s erotic genre, or so I think.

Well, that lasted long, not. Told myself to keep it cool for a while, at least so until I could get through more of the recent purchased films and albums. But caught hold of that the same Second Hand Store which I have fallen in love with for the past few weeks, had a great, almost brand new copy of The House With The Laughing Windows, and yeah, I have been meaning of checking up on that, for so long, and felt another trip was worth it, just for that alone.
However, it soon become clear, that a lot of new and interesting stuff had arrived the shelves, since my last visit. Lots of other titles that have been in my watchlist or that I have been wanting to pick up, sooner or later.
Anyway, pretty sure it will end up with several disappointments, as usual. But again, as long as there will be some potential gems and keepers, I could afford it.
Fool For Love (1985) - DVD
Almost picked it up, last fall, but yeah, instead went for two other Kim Basinger thrillers, both including Richard Gere, and where neither really were all that. This however, seems like a potential little gem, with a solid cast and yeah, hopefully a good pick as a late night summer noir adventure.
The First Power (1990) - DVD
Pretty sure I found this lying around for free, on Youtube a while back. But yeah, it came with a rather nice price to it, and if it turns out be a fun film, I would probably want to own a physical copy of it. Looks like one that is a bit of "everything" within the buddy cop genre, with action, comedy, drama and horror. Always liked Lou Diamond Phillips, and about time I got to pick up a few of his earlier movies, instead of mostly crappy DTV b-movies much later on.
One Good Cop (1991) - DVD
I am pretty sure I once owned the same DVD copy, way back. Kind of wanted to give it another try, as I have always felt Michael Keaton should have been a bigger star back in the day, and rarely put in a bad performence, but I guess trying to get "rid off" the Batman character/brand, was not gonna be easy, and well, he did pick up, much later on.
Family Plan (1997) - DVD
Only brought with me, due to Leslie Nielsen and Judge Reinhold. Another one of those late 90s films, starring Nielsen and which I had never heard of, until today. Pretty sure it is not a great one, but yeah, just another classic case of impulsive purchase.
Millionaires Express (1986) - DVD
Never seen nor heard of, but damn, the DVD artwork along with names like Cynthia Rothrock, Sammo Hung and more, well, it had me from the first moment I saw it. Hopefully it will be as fun as it looks like.
Valley of the Dolls (1967) and Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970) - DVD
Another two films, that I have never seen, but kind of knew of, at least Beyond the Valley, as I am pretty sure it has Russ Meyer and Roger Ebert teaming up together.
Maximum Force (1992) - DVD
Another "classic" late night cable b-movie by PM! Entertainment. Comes with quite an interesting cast, starring Sam Jones, Sherrie Rose, Jason Lively, Richard Lynch, Mickey Rooney and John Saxon. Not sure how much time the last three, actually has, but yeah, hopes for a fun and campy action film.
The House With Laughing Windows (1976) - DVD
Been meaning of looking it up, ever since fall of 2011, when I first encountered some images from the film in a thread similar to this forums "Guess what movie", and somehow, it has taken me until now, before finally getting it on DVD. A rather nice Shameless Fan Edition (love the yellow cover/artwork, which is great, as most of my other Giallo Italian DVDs, also has the same color/style to them), and a bit pricy I must say. So I really hope this will live up to my expectations.
Johnny Be Good (1988) - DVD
Have not been too impressed by the later 80s and early 90s films I have seen of Anthony Michael Hall, but yeah, he tried to break free from the regular likeable and geeky character most knew him from.. Well, not sure quite what I have in mind, but it did star also Robert Downey Jr. and the lovely Uma Thurman. Somehow, the DVD artwork reminds me a little of Lucas (1986), but I guess this is more comedic than dramatic.
1969 (1988) - DVD
Another late 80s Robert Downey Jr. film, that I have never seen, but comes with a solid cast, where you also get Kiefer Sutherland, Winona Ryder, Bruce Dern and Joanna Cassidy.
Rush (1991) - DVD
Another film, I almost picked up last fall, and looks quite interesting, along with names such as Jason Patric, Jennifer Jason Leigh and a few other familiar ones.
Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D. (1991) - DVD
Already own a Troma DVD, but somehow I do prefer it when certain films have subtitles, due to sometimes having poor sound quality, and sadly that one I got, were not "high quality", and this Swedish DVD, seems like a bit of an upgrade of the old Troma release. Not the first time I end up double-dipping when it comes to their DVDs, and most likely not that last time either. Anyway, I like this period of Troma era, the 80s and early 90s, where the film and its character became quite a household name for the company, and have some fond memories of watching these films, late at night back in the day.
Nomads (1986) - DVD
Yet another film, that I have somehow never seen or heard of, but with names like John McTiernan, Pierce Brosnan and Lesley-Anne Down on board, it felt like something worth giving a chance.
Back to School (1986) - DVD
Well, this I really hope will be far more enjoyable, than the other, and kind of boring Rodney Dangerfield film, Easy Money, that I saw a couple of weeks ago. Sadly, the latter came with a strong cast, but took far too long, until things started happening, and when it did, it was just not either funny nor very interesting. Back to School however, is hopefully a far more enjoyable ride, and again it seems like Robert Downy Jr. where "everywhere" back then, he is even listed in this film, but maybe not among the main crew. Knowing the lovely Adrienne Barbeau is in here, is something to look forward to.
Buffalo 66 (1998) - DVD
Not seen, since, well forever. But what I remember is specially Christina Ricci, a bit more "plumpier" than her sadly far too skinny/fragile looks these days, but I thought she looked fantastic back in the late 90s and early 00s. Sadly, it did not look like she felt that way. Anyway, what I remember beside Ricci, is the great use of prog rock, specially bands like Yes and King Crimson.
The Guardian (1991) - DVD
Well, another one that I already own, and in fact picked up last fall on a probably newer DVD release, but this I found today at least came along with some subtitles and yeah, I think it might benefit with another viewing soon.
Ninja Dragon (1986) - DVD
Hm, how many of these Ninja films did Richard Harrison actually make back then? Seems like every time I visit this shop, I end up with another similar looking/sounding Ninja release, and they all seem to come from the company/name that is Hollywood DVD. Still not yet seen either of the two earlier films, but could not ignore this one, as they sure look goofy and campy, so would love it if at least one of them, turns good.
Free Willy 2 (1995) and Free Willy 3 (1997) - DVD
Damn, they really milked the first one, but I kind of new that already to begin with. At least part 2, not so sure about part 3. Loved the original, and remember seeing it on the big screen as a kid, and on much later re-watches, I still have some love for this nostalgic early 90s family adventure. But the sequels I am not sure I ever got around to. Also, one has to laugh at the DVD artwork, which goes like: Theme from Free Willy is Written and Performed by the King of Pop Michael Jackson, and not just having the artist name alone.
The Triangle (2001) - DVD
Nowhere To Land (2000) - DVD
Two tv-movies from the early 00s, that I just picked up randomly in the very the last minute. Probably forgettable b-movies, if I am so "lucky", but once in a while, these kind of entertainment is actually not all that bad, to waste 80-90 minutes on, during late nights when nothing else is of any interest.
The Norman J. Warren Collection (2004) - DVD
Saw this neat looking coffin shaped Anchor Bay DVD box set, that actually stood right next to one I already picked up, years ago. That one was a Blue Underground box set of The Blind Dead Collection, that also had a nice black coffin shaped release. Have only seen Terror (1978), but been kind of interesting in giving Inseminoid (1981) a try, and it was that which made me pick this release along with me. The other includes a bonus disc, Satan's Slave (1976) and Prey (1977).
Jack Reed: Badge of Honour (1993) - VHS
And once more, I end up with a film I have seen and got rid of, but yeah, these things happens every once in a while. Always liked Brian Dennehy, and maybe I might enjoy it a bit more during a second round. Anyway, a bit of fun nostalgia arrives, when I opened the Norwegian Video Cassette, as there is a reminder that if the rental copy is not returned at a certain hours, you will end up having to pay a hefty price. Also on the cassette itself, a big "Re-wind the movie" sticker.
Presidio: Scene of the Crime (1988) - VHS
I once had this, along with three other Sean Connery films (think it was Hunt for Red October and The Untouchables), but do not remember much from Presidio, besides the ass whopping or "thumb" scene, where a big bully, is getting completely annihilated by Sean Connery in a barfight. Again, a former rental big box release, that smells like a 90s rental video store.
Wedlock (1991) - VHS
The last film I picked up, was from the same distribution company as those behind All-American Murder (1991), which I just recently saw, and enjoyed quite well. Loved the neon colored logo on the cover, and while I already own it twice on DVD, I could not let the chance of having a nice Norwegian VHS version with me home.
Thorgal - Alinoë (1985) - Comic
This one, I am very pleased to finally find, even if it has been around for some time, but usually in far more pricy versions, or in French/Belgian language. However, the one I found today, is in Danish, which is not always easy to understand when heard, but to read it, is very close to Norwegian and Swedish, so that will be of no problem. Have not read this, since I was a teenager back in summer of 1998, and where Thorgal was featured in the monthly comic editions of The Phantom by Lee Falk, but where I soon found out, that the best were usually the guest comics, like Thorgal, and the story of the creepy demonic kids, haunting a beautiful woman, and her son, in some remote island, always gave me the chills.
Might have to return and pick up a few more of this series, if I still like the comic as much as I used to.
All in all, lots of films I have for a time, been wanting to see or buy, so always nice to suddenly stumble upon them, and will really try to make my next visit to this shop, a bit later on, as I really need to start watching through many of the movies, as right now, it is slowly turning into a little "mountain" films, and well, I guess one just have to take one week at a time.
But it is a nice feeling, to find such a great and rewarding Second Hand store, with all kind of potential treasures lying around, or always keep on being added, from time to time.

Should probably have waited a few weeks or more, since I guess they had not gotten in too much new, since my last visit. But still I picked up a few things, some which I have probably already owned, then let go, and yeah, purchased again:
Class (1983) & Secret Admirer (1985) - DVD
Already picked up Class, a few weeks back, and just saw it last weekend. Enjoyed it very much, and Secret Admirer I saw through Youtube for free, last winter. Part of the Totally Awesome 80s Double Feature series, which seemed to be put out, quite a lot around 2005-07, and of those I have seen, this double feature surely is one of the best, as both films is around 7,5/10 - 8/10, at least on my ratings that is.
Pet Sematary Two (1992) - DVD
Pretty sure I already had this one, years ago. Most likely the exact same DVD release as well. Felt I might have rushed through it, and decided to purchase it once more.
Rated X (2000) - DVD
With the recent and still lots of fun re-watch of the Emilio Estevez/Charlie Sheen comedy Men at Work (1990), I knew I had seen some of their much later film, Rated X on tv, but yeah, it looked rather interesting, even if one never managed to see it all the way through.
Jason X (2002) - DVD
Somehow, I often got a bit confused with this, and Ghost of Mars (2001), where the latter I saw back in 2017, but yeah, turned out that Jason in Space, I am not sure one ever got across to watch.
Foxes (1980) - DVD
Only picked up, due to the many talents involved, with Jodie Foster, Randy Quaid, Sally Kellerman and Scott Baio.
Also got a hold of an adult comic and a horror movie book:
Butterscotch: The Flavor of the Invisible by Manara (1986) - Comic
The Best, Worst, And Most Unusual: Horror Films by Darrell Moore (1983) - Book

Only 1 film purchased as of lately, and one I already used to own on DVD, but felt the newly released Arrow Video Blu-ray looked quite tempting, and had to bring it with me, even if it was quite overpriced, as these import releases usually tend to be.
The Mangler (1995) - Blu-ray
While the film itself, is not exactly a "classic", it is directed by Tobe Hooper and comes with names such as Robert Englund and Ted Levine, as well as having a bit of that mid to late 90s video rental nostalgic feel to it, along with titles like The Dentist (1996) and similar splatter-horrors, which included some gruesome effects and crazy characters.
Never seen or really bothered with any of the later films in The Mangler series, but since Lance Henriksen is involved with one of them, I might consider to give them a go, sooner or later.
Anyway, the Blu-ray from Arrow, came with a neat 36 informative booklet, and reverseable cover design, and where I much more prefered the updated new one, which is a rear thing, but yeah, it felt more in tone with the plot and characters, and also reminded far more of many of these Stephen King themed 90s horror films put out on VHS.
I guess there are still lots of far more superior films that should have gotten the Blu-ray/Arrow treatment, than stuff like The Mangler, but yeah, I am kind of looking forward to see if it might be more successful re-watch this time.

DVD (1979) The Black Hole (Disney DVD) (2003) Pieces of April
4K+Blu-ray (1992) Candyman: collector's edition
I've never seen The Black Hole. Reading comments somewhere, maybe the old imdb, a user said they rewatched it when they were older and the implications of the ending were seen in a new and disturbingly frightening light. I've wanted to see it for a long time and that comment intrigued me even more. Have not watched it yet though.

DVD (2018) Bunker of Blood Chapter 1: Puppet Master Blitzkrieg Massacre
Blu-ray (2021) Don't Let Her In (1979) Island of the Fishmen (1963) Black Sabbath (Italian cut/language) (1972) Whoever Slew Auntie Roo?
4K+Blu-ray (2021) Halloween Kills steelbook v2
Bought a couple Full Moon titles during a sale a couple months ago and found a surprise in the box. A Bunker of Blood DVD with a "free gift" sticker. IOTFM poster/cover art is so freaking great. I need to buy a poster of it soon.
Bought a couple titles from Kino's perpetual While Supplies Last Sale. Great prices even with $9 shipping. I did not want to wait until the late Sept. big sale where I would have easily found other titles to buy to hit free shipping. Didn't want to take a chance on Sabbath and Roo going oop and mising them.
Halloween Kills steel is the rerelease with white color scheme. I went in to Best Buy at 1 PM and found the empty slot on new release stand. I was afraid it had already sold out as I read mist stores only got 3-4 copies. But I noticed all the other new release slots were empty. Had a girl check in the back for me and she walked out with six and handed me one. She explained they were short staffed.
