Damn, those are some real beauties when it comes to the artwork, specially the double feature of Death Wish 2 and 3. Almost makes me want to go back and re-purchase Mindfield all over again, even though I have owned it twice on DVD, and sadly, well, they are no longer in my collection. Hopefully you might get more out of it, but the cover art was surely much better than my DVD, which seemed to try to sell it off as some knock-off of Scanners (1981), which it surely was not.
If I was to re-purchase one of those, I guess Body Heat is the one that should most likely go with.

Sighs... None for me for awhile. But hopefully in August. I think the last thing I got was "The Staircase" limited series. It was excellent.

Kind of went a bit overboard while visiting my new favorite second hand store. The one I first got to knew last summer, and had not visited it for almost 4 months. And since then, they had gotten in a whole bunch of new and old movies, lots of the kind that I immediately had to bring with me home. Might realize later on, that probably a few too many are not exactly "winners", but hopefully there will be some nice surprises in there as well. Nordic films:
A few scandinavian films, and where I just saw Riders of Justice with Mads Mikkelsen last week, and surely among the best revenge thrillers of the last few years. Western and drama:Really enjoyed Lonesome Dove (1989) a few weeks ago, and decided to give the follow ups a chance. The Man from Laramie I sure hope is showcasing a much more darker and serious side of James Stewart, as I did like The Far Country, but other of his Western attempts, has been either boring as hell, or just too comical, and hopefully this time, it might work better for my part. Action, comedy and adventure:Last American Virgin, has been on my watchlist for ages, or so it feels. This Arrow release has somehow been out of production for quite some time now, and even though this used copy was a bit pricy, I had to bring it with me home. Horror movies:Among the bunch of horror titles, I could not pass by the chance to pick up certain favorites, even though I already own them on DVD, some several times over. Day of the Dead, Night of the Comet, The Initiation and Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama has now been upgraded to Blu-rays, while the most expensive yet hopefully interesting, was Bloodsucking Pharaos in Pittsburgh, damn what a catchy title, and the trailer looks awesome. Cult and blaxploitation:I was happy to find Truck Turner, as that is one I almost picked up last year, but it kind of slipped me by. However, the one I am looking most forward to seeing, is the David Carradine film Circle of Iron, as the trailer looks quite impressive.
Some older flicks:VHS:Some random bunch of old VHS tapes, most of them either Norwegian former rental copies, or swedish. A nice bonus to find the Cyborg (1989) cassette, which is an english Cannon release. Also the Fred Williamson title, is actually Black Ceasar but with these nordic releases, they often gave them completely new titles.
Books and comic:I was very pleased to find this fine book about 80s cinema, and one which seems a bit more in "depth", than the usual stuff I have found over the years, while the Scrooge McDuck classic by Don Rosa, is suddenly now considered to be cancelled due to claims over racism, and if they end up taking away parts or all of the classic zombie character/chapter, then it is surely not a complete work. Loved these comics as a kid, and maybe even more as an adult. Funny, charming, sweet and sad, yet also kind of "scary" at times. Glad to have found the 1997 Norwegian version, with words by Don Rosa himself, who has a huge and loyal fanbase over here, and since the news hit last month (or so), this book is not gonna be too easy to come back anymore, and so it was surely the most pricy item from last day. And some albums I picked up:

"Terrifier 2" Sadly this will be my final purchase. I have no more room for my Collection. I started in 2004. I will miss it. But it's time to move on.

"Terrifier 2" Sadly this will be my final purchase. I have no more room for my Collection. I started in 2004. I will miss it. But it's time to move on. Your post was among the last I read before the "time-out" happened, and never got to reply. I guess I have been there a few times ore more, since I first began to purchase movies and music some 20-25 years back. But yeah, you can never have enough space in your collection, and there have been times when it felt almost like the movies "owned me", not the other way around, due to not being able of keeping a good system. And had just about way too many DVDs and CDs, lying all over the place, and realized one had to be far more brutal in which ones is a keeper and not. Of course, I still have not enough space, and will most likely have to ditch way more films in the future, if I am gonna keep a system in order. But that can also be quite tricky, as there is always so much tempting new re-releases happening, and well, I guess it is all part of being a movie lover and also collector. It is a never ending project, or so it feels like. Anyway, I am one movie away of having all of the placed order a few weeks ago: and this one arrived today, so hopefully the one still missing, might come by within this week:

Or just Streaming. But collecting was a big part of my life starting in 2002 with VHS and switching to dvd. I mean I'd love to keep collecting. But there's just not enough room. I suppose I could Switch to the notebooks like for cd's but that would require alot of them. In my area they've really cut way down on the amount of dvds in Walmart or Dollar stores. So it seems like a good place to put a pin in it for awhile.

Yeah, I had a little visit last week, with a few "water holes" of some different stores which once used to be a nice place to look up, for both older and newer DVDs and Blu-rays, and whom had reasonable prices to go with it. Sadly, they have all stopped selling physical movies the last 6-8 months, and it seems like they are heading the same way with video games and books as well. At least there is no shortage of second hand stores and flea markets, and since VHS as well as the music cassette is having something of a nostalgia comeback these days, but that also means the prices has risen to some absolute crazy heights. While I rarely stream, I do have found lots of good use by looking up some hard to find, rare or just out of production (that or ridiculously overpriced) DVDs/Blu-rays on Youtube and a few other sites, with some very impressive video quality. So I should probably be trying to cut back on doing too many impulsive DVD and Blu-ray purchases, and make better use of what is already there for free.

Oh yeah, forgot the last movie from my order came by today. I guess Arrow Video has put out a few of Nico Mastorakis titles now, but the one I really wanted to watch over again, was Nightmare at Noon (1988) which comes with quite a heavy load of some interesting character actors. Hopefully I might get more out of it, since last time. But that was through a rather crappy DVD, which can easily affect the entertainment value.

Streaming... 500 mph Storm San Andreas mega Quake Countdown to Armageddon Firenado Christmas Twister Category 7: The End of the World Just been in the mood for cheesy Disaster movies. Sounds like the typical The Asylum disaster stuff, but yeah, I am pretty sure I have already seen a few of them myself, due to the striking titles and genre. Then again, there is probably being made tons of similar ones as we speak.

Another visit to some of the old waterholes, and they still do deliver some interesting releases every now and then. Sure, the price might be a bit "brutal" at times, but hard to let go when you have them right in front of you, specially a few that I have been meaning of either upgrading to Blu-ray or just those I have been wanting for quite some time. Also picked up a neat retro Sci-fi book, that I am looking forward to check up later on. And then a few VHS tapes, some I was kind of annoyed at, turned out to be from a tv-show, not a stand alone movie, but well, they still might be fun though:
