Movies others take seriously but you just can't at all and end up laughing at them because they are just too ridiculous.
Mine are: The Ring
The Beaver
Yours?

Killing of a sacred deer - I think that was the title
I laughed out loud 4 or 5 times but I'm pretty sure it wasn't meant to be funny.

Back in 2000, I went to a double-feature of Final Destination and Frequency. I enjoyed Frequency quite a bit and ended up buying the DVD. On the other hand, I found Final Destination laugh out loud funny, especially at the most inappropriate times. One of the other theater patrons was giving me dirty looks because I was laughing so hard.

The Dark Knight Rises when Talia Al Ghul dies, it made me laugh during a sequence that should have been an emotional ending to a great trilogy.

Huh? I don't understand why you listed that movie... I found some scenes sad & tragic... But many other scenes were incredibly funny (It was a Robin Williams film, after all!)... Did the film makers want audiences to take the entire movie seriously?

One of the other theater patrons was giving me dirty looks because I was laughing so hard. I get the impression... By you listing this movie, and your comment about the Audience... That I probably took it more seriously than you did... However, there were some over-the-top moments in the film, that even I, just couldn't take seriously... For Example: The constant playing of John Denver's song: "Rocky Mountain High" became humorous towards the end of the film, because it was just played too much...
And...
The teacher's death scene... with the computer blowing up, and the knives falling into her body... Well, the whole thing, with the song playing in the background, was just too ridiculous... I also couldn't take the sequels too seriously either, as they also had some over-the-top moments that came across as funny too...

That I probably took it more seriously than you did... I remember laughing really hard when somebody got hit by a bus. The reason I remember that is because there was a TV ad showing the audience reaction to a particular "jump scare" moment. I asked my friend (who I saw the movie with) if he knew what scene was featured in the ad, and he told me it was the bus kill. I can't recall ever reacting that way to violence or gore in any other movie, but for some reason Final Destination was unintentionally hilarious to me.

I watched the censored version on TV years ago. Nothing. Then the uncensored on cable. Meh. Whatever. Then The Thing. HOLY SHIT! WTF IS THAT!?
