I remember this movie called The Call, and it has a fiery death scene at a gas station. It stuck with me (well, most of what I saw of the movie stuck with me).

In the righthand corner behind Superman
I am a fan of Man of Steel but the blatant product placement is sickening.

I am a fan of Man of Steel but the blatant product placement is sickening. Egh, that never really bothered me when watching movies unless I'm already hating it. Besides, most of it in this gets blown up so you don't dwell on it long.

I am a fan of Man of Steel but the blatant product placement is sickening. There was quite a lot in that movie, looking back. I’m not bothered by it like most people would be, but it is distracting when taken a quick glance.

And then they took it a step further and had a major fight scene inside the fucking IHOP. In X-Men 2 there is a frige full of Dr. Pepper at someone's house and Wolverine is drinking a Dr. Pepper at a different scene in a different house that also happens to have Dr. Pepper. That doesn't bother me so much, but the Man of Steel product placement is very distracting to me.

Coming from Michael Bay, the irony of that statement is off the charts.

Jeff Bailey (Robert Mitchum) is trying to put his past behind him by running a gas station in a small town. He can't hide forever, though. From "Out Of The Past" (1947).
