'Revenge' (2017, La vengeance - Coralie Fargeat)
Three arrogant corporate bigshots take a break from servicing their shallow families to hunt game in a desert canyon. Mistress Jen (Matilda Lutz) spoils the party.
The visceral rape revenge thriller 'Revenge' is a hard, minimalistic variation on Richard Connell's influential, oft-filmed story 'The Most Dangerous Game' (1924). The story frame is stripped down to the bare essentials, showcasing a performance of resolve, resource and intensity from Matilda Lutz who initially channels Sue Lyon in 'Lolita' (1962) before transforming into Sigourney Weaver in 'Aliens' (1986). The bloody climax is well executed by director Coralie Fargeat.

Possibly. It's very kinky gothic/horror (more so than the remake). I liked the remake too, actually. You see bohemian rhapsody is the highest grossing music biopic of all time now, over half a billion world wide Yeah. and now there will be a lot of singers/musicians/bands biopics. I read there's a Prince movie coming (although I think it's more a musical inspired by his songs, not an actual biopic).

A lot of people like this film but some reason or another it has not appealed I tend to like most variations on 'The Most Dangerous Game' (1932) which is one of my favourite horrors. I enjoy seeing how this basic template evolves over time though there's been a few stinkers along the way.
