What name(s) did you use on the old IMDb? I was ErJen-1 until I got locked out of my account and had to start over again. Try and keep it in your pants Erjenious, as it is a Kardashian koming out of the kloset! Lol. You know, you just join a message board. And you have to come up with a name. So, what would you take? Certainly not your real name because who knows what kind of creeps are out there. Then you think. Of course, your kitty. Use your kitty's name. I had a kitty named Chloe. But I didn't want to spell it like that because she is dead and it was still hurting. So, I wrote 'Khloe'. Thus, I could keep my kitty alive and still keep my distance. 'Khloe' was taken. So, I changed it to 'Khloe_XXX'. Easy to remember, right? Little did I know that there was a Kartrashian with that name that would later become famous. So there it is. Maybe I need a new name, after all. There: 'Stella_Blue'.

I am puzzled by your obsession, NOT with belief in a spirit world, but with coming on here and trying to convince people of your views on the soul, spirituality and the likelihood/necessity of there being a spirit world. If I had a firm belief in the spirit world and was convinced I, or someone else, had had an experience that indicated a spirit world existed, I'd enjoy it. Heck, I don't even think a spirit world exists and I am happy to believe my dead parents visit me in the form of small birds that often come into my garage while I'm working out there. The experience is palpable, I feel their presence and I enjoy it. I feel better the rest of the day. But in no way, shape or form, would I go parading around a websites and discussion threads trying to convince others that what I felt was anything but my imagination or something they should believe, believe in or seek. Why would I put my personal experiences out there for others to challenge or ridicule? Those feelings are mine and mine alone.
Why not imagine that YOU have a special gift, the YOU can "see color" while the rest of us go around seeing a monochromatic world? Why not relish the experience? Why no let it "make your day" so to speak? Why trouble yourself with us naysayers? Why do you do it?

And what your ignorant, pompous ass can't grasp is that as of now, nobody can 'prove' something that is beyond comprehension. Your stupid ass can't even comprehend the concept of eternity/infinity (where does light come from, derp?) let alone singularity of all that exists or God.
Odds are more in favor of my being correct than your limited, dumb ass.
You keep making unsupportable assertions and pretend they have substance. consciousness as a real phenomenon that can be described objectively and mathematically.your problem seems to be that your incomplete reading of IIT somehow bears some relationship to proving there is a god. Nope! nobody can 'prove' something that is beyond comprehension.A tautology isn't any deep and meaningful statement. It is as meaningful as "there's the sun". Yes, I maintain that if there were odds, they would be in my favor. To not believe there is anything beyond the limitations of the five senses is one thing, but to proclaim as an indisputable fact that awareness is a product of the brain is nothing but arrogant pomposity. As is arrogantly proclaiming that something can come out of nothing.

And I'm puzzled as to why atheists would be on a board that's about everything they have disdain for (with the exception of Islam which they defend). I suspect it's only to make themselves feel superior by ridiculing those of faith. Well, if they can dish it out, they better be able to take it.

Actually, shit for brains, true arrogant pomposity consists of someone with no expertise in cognitive neuroscience or philosophy completely ignoring and rejecting the scientific consensuses about consciousness and the brain. That's you all the way.

And why be so vitriolic about it? Sure some respond with hostility, but if you have a special gift...an ability to discern and perceive the supernatural, why not be happy about it, rather than argumentative with those who, for whatever reason, don't share those concepts and just "don't get it"? At the least, as I mentioned before, why not rejoice in your special insight? Treat the "sightless" with patience and forebearance...not anger and condescension.
Not every atheist "disdains" religion and spirituality. I certainly don't and I consider myself an atheist...(not sure why the rest of this is in blue, I didn't mean for it to be) . I find the whole idea of people believing in God, gods, demons and angels, ghosts, the supernatural and all those beliefs might entail entirely fascinating. Why do people who've grown up in similar...or almost identical, surroundings end up believing so totally differently? I'm speaking of close friends and relatives here, not just two people who happen to live in the country or community. It certainly isn't intelligence or education that makes the difference as some of the most intelligent and knowledgeable people I've encountered/know are solid Christians. My siblings, all of whom I love and respect and talk to regularly, have retained their basic beliefs in God and Christianity while I, for whatever reason left it decades ago and have not found a reason to return to it. I don't begrudge them (or anyone else) their beliefs nor challenge them. Oh, I'll discuss things with them, but I never press issues or try to persuade them. I'm happy they're happy. I don't think they're always happy with me NOT sharing their beliefs, but I can't help that.

You have not cited a single scrap of evidence which contradicts the current materialist consensus in science regarding consciousness. Not once in your entire, worthless "contributions" to these boards. You don't even know what it would look like.

What name(s) did you use on the old IMDb? I was ErJen-1 until I got locked out of my account and had to start over again. Try and keep it in your pants Erjenious, as it is a Kardashian koming out of the kloset! Try and act like a lady, goz, so that no one will suspect what a filthy old soomka you really are. Oh, never mind. It's too late for that.

And it was so good that I'm having one more for dessert. I'm finally getting to watch Stanley Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut" after all these years. Got it on pause right now. See y'all later, and play nice while I'm gone.

But I ridicule them all equally, because belief in any of them IS ridiculous. So you admit that you're here to ridicule. That’s neither my sole reason for being here, nor my primary one. But it is something I willingly do when I happen upon a post worthy of ridicule. It just so happens that you and Cody often provide many chances to do so. I say that's true of all the atheists on this board. So if you're here to ridicule, expect to get it thrown right back at you. I can’t speak to what other atheists here do. But by all means, you’re welcome to try. I have yet to see you actually be successful in your attempts to do so without it backfiring badly. But sure, ridicule away! Religion aside, how stupid is it to think the universe came about out of nothing? That doesn't even have anything to do with religion, but simply common sense. When has anything emerged out of nothing? NEVER. I’ve never claimed that the universe emerged out of “nothing”; this is a common theistic straw man argument.

Their denial of reality is pretty simple, actually.
Humans are control freaks. Why? Because of the fall, because we're in the flesh, playing in the Devil's field of dreams.
That explains the denial of reality that atheists have. They need to control, or feel they have control, even over the devil's ball park.
So, they have to abandon Math and Logic. This is best done by switching terms around. Replacing "soul" and "spirit" with "self awareness", "consciousness", and so forth.
And you'll notice they'll change the definition back and forth from material to immaterial, thinking they've made a point, when in fact the only point they made is how ignorant they appear to the more rational souls who aren't afraid to seek truth.
Atheists detest the truth.
The atheist will call the "soul" a "self awareness" and try to put it in a material form. This is fine to play God, long as you realize you are a deluded idiot that can't change reality, but the atheist thinks he is god, and can make reality.
Even the data on the brain proves them incorrect. There is never any one place in the brain that is used for any function, nor is there one place for all functions, nor one neuron for all functions. When the soul (think of it as a meter reader, or as "meter reading" if you think of the soul as a verb, which originally a soul was thought to be in ancient days) has an activity to read in the brain, there are always at least two spots simultaneously being stimulated, usually more, and never the same spot for all activity.
Proof in itself that the "meter reader" is not material. Yet there are some people on this very board so retarded that they claim this substantiates their delusions of materialism, and they think they can vote on it, four or five idiots against one rational mind, and that makes them correct. That's Western culture. They're all Donald Trump clones. Now I have nothing against Donald Trump and his clones, but they're fools with too many resources and too much authority. I wouldn't be surprised if the poster called "Faustus" was Donald Trump himself. They're 100% alike you have to admit.
But Trump has millions of people just like him. They want to be in control, and they're out of control. Goz, Faustus, Trump, all clones of each other in spirit, we have to admit.
Faustus and his fellow uneducated, arrogant mob refuse to keep the definition of a term the same. If Faustus is at bat and I throw a strike and he swings and misses, he will say, "No, that's not a strike. That's not a baseball. That's a worm. It's a worm, so that's not a strike on me. That's a worm, yes it is. My mommy says it's a worm. Wah! That's not a baseball! Wah! That's a worm, so I caught a fish. Where's my fish? Wah!"
The reality is that I struck him out, but he will cry and whine, and five other brats on this board will all chime in with him and say, "Wah, that's a worm! That's not a baseball. That's a worm, and he caught a fish! Give him his fish! Wah!".
But then when they pick it up, they say "This is a baseball. It's a baseball now." A minute later. "It's not a baseball. It's a worm. Wah!"
That's what they do when they keep changing definitions. Only they want to change a verb into a noun. That's how out of control and out of touch with reality they are.
No offense.

And where did anybody (except perhaps you) suggest something comes out of nothing? Science would say that the big bang (if that is the genesis of our universe), before and just after, and consciousness are indeterminate because there is no evidence to hypothesise what happened then. And if you want to lay odds on who did what when, my own supreme being, of whom I have made my avatar) has an equal chance of creating consciousness (as well as a delicious sauce) as whatever you cunjure up.

That is exactly what a computational, materialist theory of consciousness would predict, you ignorant piece of shit.
You wouldn't be able to cite so much as one example of any of us changing definitions if your worthless life depended on it.
