It says here that if a wife is unfaithful to her husband and is pregnant, the priest can induce a miscarriage.
This would seem to apply that abortion is not murder and acceptable under some circumstances.
I'm against abortion, but believe it should be legal and up to the woman. I disagree with the Bible though that an embryo should be killed merely because the child's mother was an adulteress. That's not the responsibility of the embryonic human life.

No. The woman is not pregnant at the time... just being accused of cheating.... It's just a (weird) test of infidelity. Only the one translation that you used uses the word "miscarry". God is supposed to be the ultimate judge in the matter. I think the real test is answered when the woman is so willing to clear her name that she actually drinks the filthy dirt water... A guilty woman would be like "Fuck that noise!.... Yeah... Me and Herschel did it."

It is describing barreness.
There would be no need to perform the ritual if she were pregnant as her adultery would become evident.

Even in the King James version the emulsion causes "the thigh to rot and the belly to swell". This is clearly an ancient description of a pregnancy and an abortion.

I see, so we can say the Bible says what we want by claiming the language is a mistranslation? Well... considering that you have to rely on a mistranslation to make your point... Hypocrisy noted. Once again.. the woman isn't necessarily pregnant at the time of the test... It is a description of her losing the ability to conceive future children... Other versions say "abdomen to swell and your thigh to shrivel"...

The NIV is widely accepted version. It's used in many Protestant churches and is routinely used for Bible discussions.

Then why the hell would you assume that it means a miscarriage? Once again... again... again: THE WOMAN ISN'T PREGANT AT THE TIME OF THE TEST. IT'S NOT A PATERNITY TEST. IT IS A INFIDELITY TEST. And nobody is suggesting that the NIV is shit.... just that IT IS ONE TRANSLATION OF MANY... and no translation is the end all be all of translations.

A team of ancient language scholars who translated one of the world's most respected and common Bibles called it a miscarriage. But even the King James refers to a swelling belly. That's clearly pregnancy. The ancient prophets didn't understand science. They didn't know that a faithful wife and an adulteress would react the same to an abortion inducing emulsion. But it's clear this was used to abort babies of women who were suspected of adultery. It was never given to faithful wives above suspicion.

You are just relying solely on one team's translation to make your argument that still doesn't apply after repeating it for the fourth time. Then it wouldn't be a miscarriage, dumbass... Nobody, not even the NIV, is suggesting the drink makes the woman pregnant. It's a simple "Your organs will swell up and your baby-making parts will fall out" (The Hebrew word used for 'rot' is linked to "falling" or "fall to the ground"/"prostrate") Once again... again... again... again.... because I guess your just a complete fucking idiot... THE WOMAN ISN'T PREGNANT AT THE TIME OF THE TEST: It's not the ancient version of the Maury Povich show.
How many times does this have to be repeated to you?

Once you result to mindless insults I know you're scrambling and have lost the argument. It is a test for infidelity based on pregnancy. The swelling belly confirms that. So you're suggesting the priest had some magic potion which could determine infidelity? There are no unicorns in the Bible and no magic potions. It's an abortion emulsion for women whose belly swelled up (became pregnant) and were known to have committed adultery.

Calling an idiot who proves himself to be an idiot isn't a mindless insult.... It's stating a fact. At no point is it said to being "based on pregnancy" in Numbers. No... At no point did I suggest that I think the shit works... If you weren't so fucking stupid, you'd see that I already joked about the opposite being true I also at no point have stated that I think putting a little dirt in blessed water is a actually an abortion emulsion. What kid of moron would suggest that? Oh yeah...
Repeating the same shit over again... Doesn't make it true. Its not a thing for women whose bellies already show signs of pregnancy.... Their belly swelling up was part of the said punishment/side affect... not a sign that the needed the test in the first place. Technically, ALL women who are pregnant have bellies that get bigger... There'd be no difference in guilt or innocence. And at some point, everybody would realize that it was the same for both. But.... Pointing out that the women aren't pregnant and it's not meant as a paternity test again seems like it would be a waste of time for somebody as pathetically hardheaded and blindly stupid as you seem to be.

I don’t understand why OP even bothered asking the question. This was a run of the mill statement thread.
It would be like Bryce asking if it’s ok to do circumcisions.
Anyway verses 27 and 28 explain the context so all those fancy atheist “Bible scholars” can shove it up their cursed wombs if they don’t like it.

The old "This is the bible I live by... unless it's something I disagree with, then I have to dig up a different interpretation of the text in some older bible to make it ok" trick.
