Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace - 9/10... ...and that's where I stopped reading. Really? TPM? 9 out of 10? One of Neeson's best movies?
Are you out of your mind?
The Mission Schindlers List Ethan Frome Rob Roy Michael Collins Les Miserables Kinsey Batman Begins The Grey Silence
These are the movies of substance in which the man displays just how good of an actor he actually is. I don't begrudge him doing TPM's and Taken's, those are fun and enjoyable, but he does those for money. For true acting excellence look with better eyes.
I apologize in advance for coming across as a snob, but TPM? Come on.

Sometimes I go rather mad. As I said before I apologize in advance for coming across as a snob. We all like what we like. Who am I to judge?

LOL, personal incredulity overload.
TPM especially the rise of Palpatine by corrupting business, democracy and it's institutions has more substance that any of the movies you named.
From our previous conversations especially about the importantce and function of Neesons character I did not get the impression that you understood any of that (but parroted mindless Plinkett rants). Comparing that to Taken.....
Don't worry, you do not come across as a snob, quite the contrary.

his small but pivotal role in Gangs of New York was superb (which is probably my fav of all his roles) . Seriously , Scorsese could have made Gangs of New York into a badass 8 hour mini series . Exploring the Priest & the Butcher even more in depth . No biggie though , as I love everything about that film esp Neeson's role in the beginning.

I have no idea what nonsense you are accusing me of, but if you think TPM actually has substance, and more so then the other movies I mention such Schinlders List, The Mission, shit even Taken! which at least delves into a very real world problem of sex slave rings, then there's some much needed therapy in your future.

A demagogue who uses business' greed (taxation of trade routes) and corruption in the political system to get himself elected (where in history have we seen that before?). Namely by playing the victim card and by using the sympathy bonus of having his home invaded to get himself elected.
It leads to "so liberty dies, with thunderous applause" by having democracy systematically removed.
I am so glad the US do not have demagogues as leaders. Ignorance thy name is lenlenlen. Keep watching your sex-slave revenge shoot-em-ups and believing they have substance. But pray swallow your personal incredulity and let others voice their opinion unhindered.

I do not deny that the issues you raise are in TPM. What I'm saying is that they are not dealt with in any real depth. They are background filler at best in that movie. The movie itself is more of a glorified CGI muppets movie.
And to get back to core of the issue of this particular thread, not at the heart of any great performance of Liam Neeson's (And he delives the best performance in the movie!!!)
I wish those issues HAD been dealt with more deeply than with just a cursory passing, and that Neeson had been given more of substance to do, because then the movie might actually have been good.
As for Trump... don't worry my friend, I see the parallels. We're on the same page.
