Disagree with the article's assertion that Beyond is the best film in the reboot series, even if I do like it alot. But anyways...

Whatever happened to Tarantino's Star Trek? I'd rather see that.

I'm really trying not to hold my breathe. Them hiring a female director for 4 right after QT got put on blast as a choke fetishising, Polanski defending, almost-Uma Thurman killing bag of #metoo seemed suspect. Not to mention QT is infamous for abandoning awesome sounding projects. Hopefully it goes through, though. Anything less than a QT Star Trek movie is going to disappoint me, and that includes a Chris McQ one.

Well his Mission Impossible films have been good.
I think Trek '09 has been the best film of the Chris Pine crew so far.

Isn't S.J. Clarkson supposed to be directing the Next " STAR TREK" Movie ? Part 4. McQuarrie is weighing his options that aren't Marvel or Star Wars while Tarantino is...Tarantino.

I'd definitely welcome McQuarrie directing a ST film ! There are so many ways this franchise can go (even more so than Star Wars so the possibilities are endless) just give that Beastie Boys' "Sabotage" song a rest god damn it! The way they used it in Beyond was cringeworthy .

would definitely be a solid director, but playing it save again. It will greatly depend on the script.
For good or for bad, I would so much have preferred Qentin Tarentino's R-rated approach.
This series needs a Logan, desperately.

1. Crossing the final frontier 2. to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilisations; 3. to boldly go where no man has gone before
without the limitations of a PG rating?
Now, pray tell me of one prime directive that stipulates why Star Trek should never be rated R?

Personally, I think that the Next "STAR TREK" Movie should be Directed by either JJ Abrams again (after he is finished with "STAR WARS: EPISODE IX") or Nicholas Meyer (He directed "THE WRATH OF KHAN" and "THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY" which are 2 of the Best "STAR TREK" Movies, Maybe even the Top 2 Best).

I hope Jar Jar Abrams never comes anywhere near the Star Trek franchise ever again: He has zero interest and understanding of the Star Trek universe. Not to mention a complete lack of an original bone and a fetish for limp, empty and overhyped "mysteries" to go nowhere.
The same thing can be said about his handeling of the Star Wars franchise
