War of the Worlds Spielberg edition
It's so purty to look at.
Some of Spielberg's best scenes are bundled in that movie.

"Slither" was one of the most unexpectedly fun movies I've ever seen. I was ready for a 'meh' alien-horror movie, but it had a lot of fun with itself and was a great watch.
More recently, "The Arrival" has stirred a bit of controversy, but I found it really interesting. Tackles the 'invasion' bit from a different angle. The ending was a little weird, but there were some great moments throughout the film. I particularly enjoyed the attention the story paid to how we (as humans) would approach communication with aliens. Last time I saw that (handled without much depth) was in "Independence Day." Liked that movie too. Like "Slither", it knew what it was, and it was a lot of fun.

Wait, you people actually chose Body snatchers '56 over the vastly superior 1978 version?
I guess I'm glad that you at least voted for the better adaptation of Who Goes There?

The Day The Earth Stood Still was hardly an alien invasion film.

Apparently I’m not the biggest fan of this genre, but picking ones that I’ve seen and genuinely enjoy:
The Thing (1982) Men In Black The World’s End

The Day The Earth Stood Still was hardly an alien invasion film. Alien arrival can be split into 'malevolent invasion' and 'benign invasion', even if malevolence is typically the connotation of the word 'invaders'. Also, while Klatu is a benign visitor of sorts, he does arrive with a potentially destructive threat to Earthlings.

Why are none of the alien invasion films from the Godzilla Shōwa era (1954–1975) included?
