The only ones on that list I have seen (which is a good percentage of that list, roughly 20-21 of those listed(NOTE: I just counted ones listed as a series as '1' thing towards my 20-21 total count)) that I give a 6/10 or higher are...
1)Edge of Tomorrow (2014) - 7/10 (within my Top 147 movies) 2)Independence Day (1996) - 6/10 (a mild Thumbs Up) -)Arrival (2016) 4)Men in Black (1997) (NOTE: this needs a re-watch just to make sure I still like it as I have not seen it since sometime prior to Dec 27th 2011, which probably means sometime back in the 2000's decade.)
but when I think 'alien invasion', Independence Day (1996) is the first movie that comes to my mind straight up as I see Edge of Tomorrow (2014) more of time travel variation than a straight alien invasion movie. Arrival is more of a atmosphere/mood kind of movie and not quite straight alien invasion in the more straight forward sense, and while Men in Black (1997) is pretty much a legit alien invasion movie (at least on some level(more low key to the public though)) it's a bit more comedic than Independence Day (1996) where as Independence Day (1996) has the edge as I like the patriotic angle.
so I guess if I tried to rank in terms of looking at things on which I like the most in terms of more 'alien invasion', I would probably rank like this...
1)Independence Day (1996) 2)Men in Black (1997) 3)Arrival (2016) 4)Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

The Day The Earth Stood Still was hardly an alien invasion film. Same for Arrival (2016) and The Abyss. The only invaders in those movies was the US military when they were supposed to be allies.

I've seen most of the movies on the list and it was hard picking out 5 faves. If Annihilation was included it would've just made the top 5 that much harder to decide. Easier to pick out the worst ones:
Independence Day (clearly the worst movie on the list-- boring, dumb and Will Smith 'acting'-- Keanu Reaves gets shit on but this guy gets a pass, especially for this movie?) Puppet Masters (especially when compared to the first 2 IOTBS versions) The Faculty Men In Black 2 (haven't seen the rest of the series) Transformers 2 (haven't seen the rest of the series)

Cowboys & Aliens Independence Day Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) Slither Starship Troopers
I liked the first Men in Black, but not the rest of the series and I haven't seen International.

Maybe it's a bit hyperbolic for me to say but I can't believe anyone who's seen at least 10 of the other movies listed would put it in the top 5.
