All those dystopian predictions back in the day missed the mark. Our dystopia came about peacefully, via lcd screens and tiny computers, not from the bomb.

That picture is completely wrong.
Where are the headphones and lattes with straws?

So what's wrong with having a first person record of a tragedy? Or is the implication that those people should be trying to save the boat?

I've yet to own a smartphone. If you don't need one for income, you're probably better off.

The science fiction tales of 30+ years ago were obsessed with the idea 'they'll plant chips in our heads to controls us', LMAO. No, they sell us 'the chip' for 800 bucks + 100/month, and like a bluefish swimming around a shiny lure, we can't take our eyes off them. Very, VERY ADDICTING. There's going to be like, "AA Groups" and rehabs for this shit within the next 20 years. I'd bet the farm on it.

I see dark humor expressed in showing the people capturing the video of the ship sinking vs fighting for their lives. I think that was the intent of the cartoonist drawing it. JMHO If you are not seeing that, then continue to be befuddled by it or come up with another, that's all I got to try and help.

That's pretty much the joke of Dawn of the Dead, just replace cell phones with shopping malls.

Yep, the artist's intent seems pretty straightforward.
