Why is there no inclusion in MCU? Its a bit homophobic to have no gay cannon characters in the Avengers in the year 2018. Do you actually care about the "issue" or do you care more about the reaction to your thread about it?

blatantly and hilariously so. Arguably, I thought Flash in JL to be homo- or bisexual. And the Batwoman in the show is allegedly gay too.
Too bad the MCU are so lagging behind the under representative barometer. First black male hero lead Black Panther 2017 when Blade came out in 1998.
So basically Marvel beat Marvel to the first black male hero movie. Actually DC was first with Steel the year before. Though it did take DC 7 years to have a black male hero headline a film. It took Marvel 1 year...and their first film. (DC have been involved in their film productions since 1990, Marvel since 1998) Actually the first ever was Modesty Blasie in the 60's. And Marvel's first was Elektra in 2005. And as an aside...first female director of a CBM was a Marvel film Actually she was bi-sexual not gay. And it wasn't the first time it was ignored...no mention of John Constantine's bisexuality in Constantine. No mention of Wonder Woman's bi-sexuality in Wonder Woman! No mention of Mystiques bisexuality in SIX X-Men Films. How is a half English half Gujarati man, playing a an English actor who is made up to look like a half English half mongolian man, whitewashing? And calling the changing of a character completely fom an elderley Tibetan man, to a young Celtic woman (a character that was for years considered problematic for it's depiction of an Asian character) whitewashing seems a bit of a stretch. Did you have issues with Ra's Al Ghul not being Arabic in Batman Begins. Did you have any issues with the numerous instance of "blackwashing" there have been? - Catwoman, Kingpin, Electro, Deadshot etc No of course you didn't...you only care about rattling cages and rufflingfeathers

Kratos, while we respect your right to express your opinions, please be advised that one of our own moderators is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. Whether you and I like it or not, a transgender superhero may one day become a reality. I tend to respect you Lord Death Man, but why the need to try and intimidate Kratos? As you stated, he did express an opinion, of course not mainstream nor pandering, but it's not like he wrote that gays must die...
Why moderators personal lives should stop us from expressing opinions? Sheesh, people gets offended by everything these days...

Just because they have a Marvel logo slapped on doesn't make each brands approach and intentions the same. Still doesn't exclude Valkiriy having plans to have a female lover (angel scene) but was cut from the theatrical version. Mandarin and Ancient One are Asian characters in origin. No need to change them just because a few people might be offended by steroptyiping. Yeah I have problems with some of those, but this is an MCU topic. And you can add Bane being portrayed by Tom Hardy instead of a South American/Latino.

The feeling is mutual. Forgive me if my approach was heavy-handed. I'm a moderator on a couple of other boards and, in that capacity, I tend to try and nip trouble in the bud whenever I see it. All it would have taken for this thread to descend into an anti-LGBTQ+ rant is a few more off-color replies. I was trying to give Kratos a heads up, and since our mod is not shy about his affiliation, I thought it couldn't hurt for Kratos to know that before he decided to double down on remarks that could be misinterpreted as homophobic. We also now have an official rule prohibiting those kinds of statements. Next time, I'll save that for a PM. To demonstrate that the subject isn't altogether verboten, I'll go ahead and start a thread on that very topic.

Who cares about their sexual orientation its not important. As I've stated in a previous post, the MCU has made it a point to not delve into the sexuality of majority of its characters. That's because it wasn't necessary to the story and it was a good move. We should only care about their sexuality of it's important to the story.

There's no gay characters in the Justice League or X-Men either. What are you trying to rationalize with it? You know these idiots don't care about actual conversation.

The OP topic is about inclusion in the MCU-Avengers . Why bring DCEU or X-men into it at all if you care about "actual" conversation? It's a differnet discussion.
"Idiots"! is not a nice thing to say btw.

If and when they do it I hope it's not played up. I'm not saying having representation isn't important, but that being gay/bi/trans/etc should be just another boring fact about a person. It makes up part of a person's personality, but isn't exactly THE defining characteristic. Like Captain Cold in the Arrowverse. He is a lot of things and happens to be gay is just one of them.

Random thought: Doesn't the Grandmaster fall under LGBTQ? Or at least was hinted at?

I donโt think itโs fair to not count any characters from the TV side of the MCU. Itโs all the same universe and it just seems like an excuse to not give them credit for having LGBT characters. Runaways has a great relationship between Nico and Karolina. TV shows have become the more progressive of the bunch with Luke Cage and Jessica Jones headlining their own series, Quake and Yo-Yo are probably the strongest most badass heroes on Agents of SHIELD, and they introduced gay character Piper to the show, along with the already mentioned Hogarth, then Sara Lance, Constantine, Alex, Captain Cold, The Ray, and soon to be Batwoman in the Arrowverse. I give credit to both Marvel and DC for kicking ass with their representation on TV.

I got the feel Maria & Carol were a couple in CM in 1989. Have you ever come across the Steve/Bucky stuff? Its a pretty popular pairing
