I don't think so. It's got comedy, pathos, suspense and terror! All the performances are good to excellent. The score is tremendous and there's style to burn. And there's not a single boring moment.
I can't think of a better movie than "Carrie".

Ralph should have been wearing his Greatest American jammies and he would have been OK.

I do like how singular it is, but it's not my personal favorite film. Actually been quite a while since I've seen it.

Itβs a fantastic film, no doubt. But I wouldnβt say itβs the greatest movie ever.

Compared to other classic horror movies in the genre, it's not very scary. I mean it has absolutely nothing on the terror that you'd find in Alien, for example. The hand that comes out of the grave at the end hasn't dated well.

Agree for the original, but not for the remake.

It's certainly one of my favorite horror movies of all time. And it was done to perfection. The entire prom scene was a brilliant piece of work. De Palma at his very best.

You are on to something. It has atmosphere and that all-important creep factor that the two remakes couldn't quite muster as well as the 1976 version. I do love it, the mother/daughter dynamic is best in this version too. But I'm gonna just leave this here.... Jaws is my favorite, still!

Always loved the psycho religious fanatic mother. And her Jesus figure (figurine?) with the creepy glowing eyes!

Perfect if you find the total degradation and humiliation of a young woman, who hurt no one until she was tormented past endurance by a gang of psychopathic bullies and a religious fanatic, amusing and entertaining.

If it's so perfect, how come the remake fixed so many of its problems?
You know, problems like Carrie not being hot enough. Sissy Spacek is pretty in her own way, but not obviously stunning. The remake fixes this by casting a conventionally attractive blonde girl who's better looking than the bitchy popular ones. A+!
Oh, and what about the blood dump? I could hardly tell what was happening in the original based on one static shot, so luckily the remake showed it from three different angles. Genius!
Oh, and Baby Driver is a perfect Tommy. I always said William Katt had too much charisma and likability.

You have good taste in movies. JAWS in my personal top ten, with Chrissie's opening demise probably the scariest most frightening (as well as disturbing) scene in a movie that I have ever seen. It is an exhilarating movie
