My post is an abridged version of the OP minus the comically transparent attempt to sugarcoat elements of the movie that the OPer usually abhores. I added nothing. What part of that didn’t you understand? If/when I post my own view of the movie, I’ll state it as such ... so you don’t get confused again. Mmmkay? No. You were trolling. And you spelled shiny with two Ns. Regardless of what you think my motivation was, it does not change the fact that my post is an abridged version of the OP. Thank you for the spelling correction. I was looking for a word that was a bit more even-handed than the OP description of the unrealistic cinematography/colors as “comic book-y”.

Is this sh*t worth blowing $17 on imax 3D or should I just catch it on a regular screen on $4 day?

I'm hearing a lot of reviews mention the awkward use of pop songs. How bad is it?
I usually despise this kind of thing and find it tacky AF. There's a few expections though: I loved the use of Zeppelin in Thor 3.

Is this sh*t worth blowing $17 on imax 3D or should I just catch it on a regular screen on $4 day? Yes, as I said in my OP, this film is MEANT for Imax. It's main achievements are (post modern) cinematography and effective world building. I'm going watch it again, just for Imax 3D.

So basically, you haven't seen it and your post is useless. Keep it up, My post is an abridged version of the OP minus the comically transparent attempt to sugarcoat elements of the movie that the OPer usually abhores. I added nothing. What part of that didn’t you understand? If/when I post my own view of the movie, I’ll state it as such ... so you don’t get confused again. Mmmkay? I wonder how you could possibly assess any of that without having seen the movie? I regarded your post as comical trolling turning any of my pros into a con, but leaving my cons standing.
But if you were serious, pray elaborate, so we can discover the salty nature of surgarcoated elements I usually abhor...

You saw the movie, and you described those elements. Considering your long history criticizing other movies that you think have ... comic-booky CGI, excellent toy potential, toilet humor, a paper thin, shallow, derivative story, annoying music, adequate acting and should be a winner with the dumb masses ... one must look upon your Aquaman review and chuckle at your sudden epiphany that such a movie can be a “near masterpiece”. Either your Aquaman review is BS, or everything you’ve said prior to it, is.

I just came back from seeing it. I thought it was good, visually it was impressive, the costumes were done well and there was plenty of action and spectacle. Bits of humour but not really too overdone.
To me it's no different than what you'd expect to see in a MCU movie. Its why I don't understand this competition because this could easily have been a MCU movie.
I'd rank this as the third best DCEU movie. Personally Man of Steel is my favourite and then Wonder Woman and then slightly behind that is this.
I'd give it a solid 7.5, almost but not quite as good as the slightly similar Black Panther.
