Eli is probably the luckiest QB to ever play the game. Eli earned those rings. He did, kinda, in a Brad Johnson Trent Dilfer-ish way. Two fluky historic catches helped too.

I’ll agree he’s better than those two and two rings are two rings, but there was a bit of divine providence in the two Eli games.

I admit that I’m trolling a bit, but not by much. Jim Plunkett, John Elway, Roger Staubach, Bart Starr - they have 2 rings, is he somewhere around those guys? Is he better or worse than Rivers? Personally I rank Elway top 5 all time. Those other guys, including Eli, somewhere else.

When I think "Elite" I think top 5 QB...Im sorry, Rivers imo has never been a top 5er. Tom Brady Aaron Rodgers Drew Brees R. Wilson Top 4 imo.. Newton D. Watson D. Carr M. Stafford Molhomme Ive seen them all taken ahead of Rivers. Am I saying he is chopped liver, no, but elite...errr...... Lets be real....I hate to go here but imo I have too. You got a fantasy football team, I know some of you do, how many of you start Rivers? I bet none of you do. I started Rivers every week this year except his bye. He is about the qb 7 for the year, which is amazing as he rarely uses his legs. I was also 10th to draft a qb sp I got a good value. My top qbs: Drew Brees Tom Brady Patrick Mahomes Aaron Rodgers Ben Roethlisberger Phillip Rivers Matt Stafford Matt Ryan Russel Wilson Deshaun Jackson

Watson right? (Houston), dont worry I butchered poor Mahomes name. Usually, Rivers is that guy...someone goes down and theyll nab him.

He is currently rated as QB 10 so for my team he did what he needed to do. I went cheap at QB and wanted consistency and that's what Rivers is. Plus he never misses games and in fantasy that's important. This. I am also first in my money league in wins and for Total points and I have rivers. Pretty impressive as I dont have Gurley.

Did anybody else know that Eli Manning's first name is actually Elisha? Learned that tonight. Never thought Eli was short for anything.

Dude, you're better than this idiocy. How would you categorize or rank Eli’s career? I admit that I’m trolling a bit, but not by much. Jim Plunkett, John Elway, Roger Staubach, Bart Starr - they have 2 rings, is he somewhere around those guys? Is he better or worse than Rivers? Personally I rank Elway top 5 all time. Those other guys, including Eli, somewhere else. Well, as long as you admit that... I wouldn't argue Eli is top 5 all time. But that's irrelevant really to this point. He doesn't need to be one of the few all time greats top have earned his rings through great play in his playoff runs to and through the Super Bowl. If you think he Dilfer-ed of Brad Johnsod-ed his way through the playoffs then you just didn't watch. Eli's career is hard to quantify, clearly. The debate between him and Rivers is interesting. They'll always be linked. I think Rivers underachieved with more offensive talent, and Eli sort of overachieved with more defensive support. I'd rate them pretty evenly, but I think there's much more of a feeling of a wasted opportunity for Rivers with the Chargers. Same could be said of the post Super Bowl 42 Giants the year when they were the best team in the league up until Plax shot himself. But Eli, until maybe now when he has no offensive line, never had genuine top of the line offensive fire power like Phillip Rivers did, especially early on. The other thing about both of them is that they both are total iron men. They've never missed games and have probably played hurt a lot over the years. You could easily argue that Roethlisberger is the best QB from that draft class, but he can't make that claim at all. But Rivers has always disappointed in the playoffs, and until he shows up there, which he very could this year, he will always have that hanging over him. But.... ...genuinely only an idiot would say that the Manningham catch in Super Bowl 46 was 'lucky' or 'a fluke.' It was just a good catch made on a perfectly placed throw. I've heard people make this comment before, and it immediately outs them as morons... And I know that you're not an moron.
