There is a saying which is quite frequently proven true...
"Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction"
SOME of these stories, Could easily become the basis of a good horror film...
So, perhaps:
"Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction" ==> "Truth Is Stranger Than HORROR" ==> "CRIME Is Scarier than HORROR" ==> "CRIME Is SCARIER than HORROR"
"CRIME Can Be SCARIER than HORROR"?
Personally, I can believe that...
Because some of these stories, really do give me the creeps!

Me too, but I think, knowing Power Ranger, he wasn’t quite referring to “the willies” in that way, if you know what I mean.

Aw, gee, do I have to eliminate THAT 'colorful metaphor' from my vocabulary, too? What's left?

Admittedly, I wouldn’t have thought of that meaning for the word either if I hadn’t recently watched a British show in which that, er, ice cube I posted above was part of the comedy.
