Is like this board times 100,000. Now I know where the talking points here come from as I would be shocked if there wasn’t some cross contamination.
More verification that atheism desperately needs religion to matter.
Still, the site itself is not as troll based as I was led to believe, so I’ll bide my time there more frequently.
I got tired of searching for forums while ignoring the biggest one. I’ll check out their religion side to see how good or sucky it is.

I am not much of a Reddit fan unless I like reading and not contributing. I like forums where I can observe people closely and get to understand them and see if they change or not over the years. There are too many people to know them closely on Reddit.
That said I understand everyone has his or her own reasons to be on message boards and many like to be active on reddit. I do like r/FreeFollk though.

"More verification that atheism desperately needs religion to matter."
Well by defintion it needs religion to matter seeing how atheism is essentially a rejection of God (and by proxy typically a rejection of religion). Without God/religion obviously a term like "atheism" wouldn't even be needed. It's like saying the term "unemployment" depends on the existence of jobs, that's just stating the obvious (one term essentially depends on another). Besides isn't Reddit in general fairly left leaning? Really, what did you expect?

I've heard nothing but horrible things about Reddit Atheism and Reddit in general, so I never go there. Apparently it is where the misogynist, racist, alt-Right wing of modern atheism likes to hang, and I want no part of them.

It would be more inviting a concept if the goal wasn’t primarily to say what’s wrong with religion and especially when it does so in boneheaded fashion. But to each their own.

When you live in a society where a large portion of the population thinks humans and dinosaurs lived together, will only vote for polticians that believe in a divine carpenter, complain about Christmas not being on a Starbucks cup, think abstinence is a legit form of birth control, and think Obama is a secretly a Muslim, then yeah I do think there are legit criticisms to be made. And that's just American Christianity, don't even get me started on the horrible mistreament of women, LGBTers, and non Muslims in the Middle East.

We need people here. People leaving a place makes it less appealing. Hanging out at graveyards is creepy. This is largely the admin's fault though. The forum cannot support so many topics. It needs consolidating in order to increase religious discussion and reduce the Politics Board popularity.
