That folks, is the most misleading trailer in history. It's a comedy. The entire movie has fun with the idea of a 90 year old drug mule. Eastwood's character is affable and charming and floats in and out of potentially dangerous situations with no real tension at all. That trailer is a total lie. The movie is enjoyable in its own way, but it's the polar opposite of what's advertised here. They use comedy to defuse every scenario, including the dog scene in this trailer.
It's crazy how different the film actually is. Trailers are known (and in some cases, I suppose meant) to misdirect audiences, but this one takes the cake.

I avoid trailers for any movie that I want to see for this reason, and also because they tend to give too much away.

Not the Larry Crowne trailer. what I have been doing lately is avoiding the trailer and the movie all together and just mentally constructing the movie in my head; it is much cheaper and my reviews always have a unique viewpoint.

it was an interesting movie. probably not what you would expect based on the trailer but still inteesting. Ensanble cast spearheaded by Clint overpowered the sometimes weak/too melodramatic script. Enjoyed it, would recommend it.

Unless there's an ape or Ruth Gordan involved, I ain't interested.

Heard he apparently has 2 separate threesomes in the movie? Because you know, when you think about Clint Eastwood you think about threesomes.

its true but you dont see much of the action. at all. also heard movies very offensive on some level? i dont think so, i mean there is a few racial slurs but all are used in a context that explains it and it feels appropriate for the character to be using them. as far as the cartel members being all Latinos, i mean, thats who they were in reality so... no, the movie is quite enjoyable really.

Think there is a lot of racist-ness or something in there while it's supposed to be viewed as charming or something? Idk. I don't care to see it but I listened to a movie show where they discussed it and there was like a 5 minute rant about the movie.

I don't care to see it but I listened to a movie show where they discussed it and there was like a 5 minute rant about the movie. there are 3 racial slurs. beaners, crackers and one time he says "negros". each time these words are said, it makes sense for his character to use those words and it did work as a very dark but functional comedic device. the movie in no way glorifies using those words, or says it ok, actually each time it is said the other characters oppose it / push back, and Clints character is not certainly seen as charming because of it. or in spite. i think the most racist thing you could hold against the movie is the fact all latinos regardless of which country they are from are treated as "Mexicans" and all "mexicans" are "criminals" in this movie. but then again, its based on a real story of a real cartel which did consist of people with latin American origins/ethnicities. if we accept that because the are racial slurs we cannot even have characters that would in real life for sure be using them use it, then i think its all going in the wrong direction. now that i think of it, i actually think the movie helps fight AGAINST racism, if anything, as it has a pretty strong scene of a minority driver being scared shitless while cops pull him over and check him. its also somewhat comedic BUT powerful at the same time.
