That's all good and nice but you got to answer this question as a litmus test for your true leanings. Are you a Ranger or a Celtic? I'm not a football fan but I do get concerned every time West Ham lose a game. Ah...I can understand. I used to pass West Ham stadium regularly in my evening walks when I lived in Barking, Essex.
I was joking about the other question. I guess that question is a proxy in Scotland for asking whether you are a Protestant (Rangers fan) or Catholic/Irish (Celtic fan).

I can't say which one I like but definitely not Catholicism. Yes it puts on a nice show, but I think by calling Mary the mother of God and having all those saints, as well as priests being able to forgive sins, it's more akin to paganism. My favorite would be the one that puts on a "nice show" that isn't just a facade. Which one would that be? Is there one?

During the 1990s, I had seriously studied other religions. It is The Roman Catholic Church for me. I also seriously restudied its traditions.

It's not about what's "most appealing" to the person but which one is the truth and that's the Catholic religion.
it's not always easy but it's reward (i.e. eternal life in Heaven) is worth it

IsapopDoes it really matter what I have to say on that? ; besides from more of a moral standpoint it's the most attacked because what it teaches is the truth instead of going with the flow of the world which is often contrary to Jesus Christ. but at the end of the day... Jesus Christ started the Catholic church with Peter basically, who's the first pope, and then it went down through the generations from there til today (list of popes... www.newadvent.org/cathen/12272b.htm ). the Catholic church is Jesus Christ's church, it's the one He guides. so it's the true church of God. or another way to put it... Jesus Christ started the Catholic church, other denominations were started by man. "I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it." - Matthew 16:18

You're saying that it's attacked because it teaches the truth. Other churches under attack (many throughout the world) could make the same claim. But Sheen is saying that if he didn't know which church was the true one, he could tell by which one is the most hated. You chose to quote him, so it's fair to suppose you'd be prepared to support his notion. That's a different criterion entirely, and you're entitled to it. But Sheen's criterion strikes me as totally ridiculous.

IsapopIn terms of them claiming to be the true religion... not really. because basically only the Catholic church can be traced back to Jesus Christ as far as Christianity goes and Christianity is the truth. people will eventually find out that truth either in this life or the next there are Eucharistic miracles etc (like... Our Lady of Guadalupe image from the year 1531, or the image on the rock(which is apart of the rock itself) from Our Lady of Las Lajas from the 1700's, or Fatima back in 1917 etc) which further support the Catholic religion as the truth. these have to count for something Fair enough. but even if I came up with a decent argument, at the end of the day it seems to boil down to the following quote for many that I quote from time-to-time which is... "To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible." - St. Thomas Aquinas

I hate that quote. It is so wrong that I can’t even figure out why it’s praised so much.

Time and again I realize I like the Catholic sect far more than the Protestant sect (the later I don't like at all). The dishonesty employed by many protestants is astonishing. Some of them choose not to call themselves "Protestant" and try to say all the denominations are just man-made sects while truly adhering very strongly to Protestant ethics and beliefs. As if I am getting fooled. The Protestants who employed this strategy most often on the old board were Sailor-J, Jairu, and Wolfesth.
Sorry, as a neutral observer, I see Roman Catholicism and Eastern orthodoxy far better than Protestant schools and in my opinion (which I agree is subjective) they are also truer forms of Christianity.

I might be biased considering that's how I was raised, but Catholicism for me. As most here like the church in which they attended as a child, I'd say that fact creates a huge bias.
