If that's a photo of her then she looks perfectly nice to me, but no better or worse than dozens upon dozens of other film or TV actresses I could think of.

Obviously it is a subjective topic and that's why I used the word "alleged". Personally I don't find her more beautiful than Gene Tierney.
She was indeed widely alleged to be the most beautiful woman ever by many people. Her promoters, Hollywood reporters, authors and many Hollywood people in general.
and she is also related somehow to invention of wifi!

So what? So nothing. There are people who alleged that she is the most beautiful woman in the world. You can just ignore them or their view. I just answered the question you asked who were the people who alleged she was the most beautiful woman in the world.
As for Hollywood spin and reality not being the same. I totally agree. As for point 6th, I just gave info in a friendly manner as I thought it interesting. 1. Yes, there are a small group of Hollywood insiders and other hangers on who have made that allegation, but I would not classify that as being "widely alleged".
