How do DCU fans feel about Aquaman being rated on a par with TTDW and TIH by critics?

I can't say how I feel about it until I see the movie. I'll be seeing it on Saturday.

Odd to be honest. Aquaman was definitely better than those two movies so I don't know why it's on par but considering scores for the other three DCEU movies not named Wonder Woman then that's good in itself.

Could have easily have been rotten again.

Thor Dark World and Incredible Hulk weren't bad movies anyway, they were pretty good but I can agree with their score. Aquaman should be higher though.

It's like before where Man of Steel had a 58% but Iron Man 3 had a 80% but it was Man of Steel that won the award for best Summer movie. The IMDb scores for the two are pretty much the same but are far apart when it comes to critics.

To be fair, if I were to remove my frustration with the Mandarin twist IM3 is by far a more solid movie than MOS.

Personally I think its insanity. There's no fucking way in hell that Aquaman rates as low as The Incredible Hulk or Thor the Dark World. It tops both those movies in EVERY way.

This further confirms that critics are biased in favor of MCU. MCU movies are always over-rated because of critic bias in favor of MCU.

And why is that? The problem with the more ‘out there’ conspiracy theories is they can be debunked by simply asking what the whole point is. It doesn’t matter what “tangible proof” you have. What is the basis of your theory? That you just like DC more and you can’t fathom them doing this poorly so you created an antagonist to direct your frustrations? Oh okay.

Why are we being force fed the world is round if it isn’t? Why are we still being lied to about landing on the moon? It’s phenomenally harder to pay hundreds of thousands of people to lie about it than to just end the charade. Why are people giving MCU movies a thumbs up when they didn’t like them and spitting on a DCEU movie when they secretly loved it?

You want to know what the silliest part is? When an MCU movie is not praised, when it doesn’t meet standards and isn’t going to be a box office darling, people point to the obvious shortcomings. The film itself. The performances of the actors, the ability of the directors, the atmosphere it creates. The same rational things every other movie ever created is judged by. But when a DCEU movie is criticized, where do people go? “Well what about the MCU...” nobody actually cares what the critic says because it’s just some conspiracy. He wrote it with blood money. Why don’t we hear this from Transformers fans? Adam Sandler fans? Fast and Furious fans? Excuses are made by people who can’t accept the hand drawn to them. You hired Amber Heard and Jason Momoa, two of the worst A-list filmographies of the last decade, to carry a 200 million dollar movie. What did you think was going to happen?

It's a well-known fact that MCU movies are over-rated by critics due to critic bias in favor of MCU. To deny that critics have any bias in favor of MCU is as ridiculous as denying that CNN is bias in favor of Democrats and liberals. In 2016, even after all the other news stations had called the election for Trump, CNN still refused to call the election for Trump. There were CNN news anchors who were complaining and whining that Trump had won. Fuck neutrality and impartiality! They were going to complain and whine because their candidate didn't win.

Bias exists in media. CNN is heavily biased in favor of Democrats and liberals. And movie critics are heavily biased in favor of MCU movies. That's why MCU movies are always over-rated by critics.

It’s related to faking the moon landing and the flats earthers because it’s a bunch of bull. An alternate complaint that’d be warranted is that Marvel has a “appeal to all ages, don’t upset the masses” formula. They play it safe. Each individual movie is rated fairly, the problem seems to be people are miffed they’ve made so many ina row that aren’t stinkers.

Watching CNN and noticing that the people there don’t report news objectively is factual. Saying a movie isn’t as good as someone else thought it was is entirely subjective. Because you don’t like a certain cookie cutter basis that clicks for general audience doesn’t automatically make to bad. Marvel’s reviews aren’t that it’s the best ever, they’re that people won’t hate them. RT is a “what’s the odds I’ll hate this movie” site. You can enjoy a Snyder film, but to claim it’s built to appeal to all ages/points of view/both genders you know isn’t entirely correct. Marvel makes cornbread while DC makes incredible Jalapeño loaf when 1/2 the world can’t handle spicy food is fair. People going into Marvel movies with most of their positive review already written is stupid.
