Somehow, theists seem to ignore that the act of celebrating on December 25th predates the Christian era by centuries, perhaps millennia. Early Christians decided to jump on the band wagon about 300 years after Christ died.
17th century Puritans, like today's Jehovah's Witnesses, forbid celebration on that date and even had laws passed that forbid celebration on that date. Well, it didn't work. So when a priest said, "Jesus is the reason for the season", I said, "Male bovine excrement"
