So let's talk about the MCU's upcoming big bad. What do you think of the casting of Brolin and how he might portray the character? Will Marvel give us a better villain than Loki? Will Thanos be another pile of purple poop?

Thanos is a good villain, but overhyped. He has defeated most of the Marvel characters in the past, but gets defeated in very underwhelming ways.

Feige has described Thanos as the "main character" of Infinity War, and he has two movies to wreak havoc in, so I'd like to think he's going to be a well developed villain. I wasn't a fan of his voice or his CGI in GOTG. He felt too generic to me. I was hoping for his voice to sound more sinister, and his design in the post-credits of Avengers was far better imho. They may surprise me, though. Brolin is a good actor. Let's hope they give him something good to work with.

Well, first off, I'm fine with Brolin and am open to any interpretation. I'm not sitting around hoping for something only so I can be disappointed with what turns out to happen.
Second, we've had lots of great villains. Red Skull was awesome, so was Obediah Stane, and Alexander Pierce. Ultron was new and introspective, Zemo was deep and well acted, and frankly I thought all the rest were fun.
But Thanos from what we can tell is going to be the main character so I'm half expecting some back story that really gets into what he's all about. Should be interesting.

I didn't like how they watered down Ultron and made him jokey. But that can all change if they bring him back in future Avengers movies.

Red Skull and Obediah Stane were okay/good the Red Skull thing is iffy for me probably because I didn't really care for The First Avenger. The big twist reveal in Iron Man 3 turned me off completely to the rest of the film so I wouldn't put Pierce in this category. The trailers and the build up to Ben Kingsley's Mandarin had me so hooked and I was like "f yeah this dude is a threat and legit scary" only for that twist to make me hate the rest of that movie. Ultron was once again okay/good I loved James Spader voicing him but to me the high point for his character was him walking out all creepy like and talking about puppets. Zemo was very well acted and I legit felt for him there at the end which is great because I think for a good villain you need to understand why they are doing what it is that they are doing so I'd say he was very good. I'd throw in the guy from Ant Man too. I liked that performance as well and after seeing that I thought, damn that guy should be playing Lex Luthor not Jesse Eisenburg. For me none of them have reached that status of Loki but hopefully upcoming villains do like Hela and Thanos. I have high hopes that a future Norman Osborn reaches this status as well.

But hey, feel free to feel bad for me I didn't read past your first sentence TBO. The villains have been fine and anybody who feels the need to whine about them doesn't generate any interest from me, sorry. It's not even a discussion. I've enjoyed the hell out of all of them, including the fact that some have been very deep and others haven't. It's not like I don't see what you're talking about. It's that I enjoy it.

I honestly don't know what to take of this response. I gave my opinion yet you didn't read past the first sentence because I slightly disagreed with you? FFS can this be different from IMDB?! I love the MCU movies. But I won't deny that they have had some that I didn't like. A few I'd say would be Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Cap 1, and anything Hulk (sorry I just don't care for the character that much) They have some decent villains. I highly enjoyed Zemo. While you can make pokes here and there it didn't matter to me because you felt his pain. For me, he's the closest thing to come close to a Loki.

I think Josh Brolin is a fine actor. My concerns about Thanos have nothing to do with who is playing him.

All of Iron Man's villains are dead. Laufey, Ronan, the Red Skull, the Destroyer, both of those elves from Thor two, Ultron, Mads in Dr. Strange, Ant man's villain. Loki and Zemo are practically anomalies.

Loki and Zemo are practically anomalies. I doubt Red Skull and Ultron are dead. Red Skull was most likely teleported somewhere else. As for Ultron, if you know anything about Ultron from the comics, then you'll know that he only comes back stronger and stronger each time he gets defeated. That's Ultron's gimmick. What probably happened to Ultron in the MCU was that Vision decided to keep Ultron locked up somewhere. Which makes sense, because you can't kill an artificial intelligence. Once Thanos kills Vision in Infinity War, Ultron will probably be free once again and will create a new body made out of vibranium this time. Making him even more dangerous than before.

You're not wrong that most are dead. But, Loki, Zemo, Abomination, potential Leader, Ulysses Klaw, possible Zola TV head and Mordo on the rise are not dead. And Dormammu ain't dead. Marvel do have possibilities for good recurring villains. Wasted possibility so far, but it's still there.
