The first half of Logan's Run is better than the second.

Full Metal Jacket. I've grown to accept the second half, but the film takes a definite dip in quality after the boot camp section.
Jeepers Creepers also has a strong start but goes to hell along the way.

Lucy (2014) Starts pretty interesting, but near the end, it becomes silly, bizarre, when her body begins to metamorphose... it´s just another kind of movie, an not a very good one. The Mist (2007) First half, you are on the edge on your sit... then, when the monster shows up, the suspense vanishes, don´t get me wrong, the second half is not bad, (I´m not talking about the controversial ending), but second half didn´t fill my expectations.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park. The movie falls apart when the T-Rex gets loose in San Diego.

"It" came first to mind for me too. First half was a 6 then drops to a 3.

From Dusk Till Dawn
Right after Salma Hayek turns into a vampire, the movie gets ridiculous and stupid.

I like the film overall, but the first half of Force Awakens for me was stronger than the second.

Goodfellas. I don't know if it cuts it in half, but once Tommy dies the story gets a little meh.

"Stripes" with Bill Murray (Once Basic Training Finale ends and they go to Europe) "Funny People" with Adam Sandler (After he is cured of cancer and starts random hijinx) "The Hateful Eight" with Kurt Russell (After the plot is revealed and we know who poisoned the stew) "Death Proof" with Kurt Russell (After the first group of girls/bar. The second plot with the other girls from Hollywood)

I forgot about Funny People. I agree, the 1st half was much better than the 2nd half. You have no idea how much that pissed me off. I started watching this film on USA Network at 4am one morning because I couldn't sleep. I saw the first half. It was so good compared to other Sandler films. I had to start making breakfast and get ready for work, so I got it in my INBOX on NETFLIX-DVD. I told my wife how good it was and I couldn't wait to see how it ended. I assumed he would die or come close to dying, but it would teach Seth Rogen's character not to be a sell out like him, and stay true to your roots like Stand up and not making garbage films for paychecks. But no... I rent it, watch it. Once he lives, it's some b-plot about trying to get his ex-wife back and all that stuff. It was a typical 'sellout' cash grab Sandler comedy the second half. I thought it started out like a satire on his career and he was showing how good he could act, if he wanted too... then it just turned. I HATE that movie. I want to pretend he died of cancer and the other guy learned from his misfortune...

Apatow said in the DVD commentary that a lot of people felt the 1st half and the 2nd half fell like two different movies. I felt the same way.
