House. In my area you can get a nice house and if you're up for all of the mortgage and ownership business, it's much more cost efficient than renting an apartment. There is a lot of upkeep, but in my area you are used to that line of thinking. Owning a house where I am at is pretty much standard for most people. I like my place. If you were to Wizard-of-Oz it to California or New York, then I would be a big time player.
