I'd give it a 4, so it's down around the worst of the MCU. TIH, Thor 2, that stuff.

Did...did... Summers8 just play the "did you assume my gender" card? Yup and compared a movie before he/she/it watched it.

I did put male but it does not mean I am male. there was no... prefer not to say. Well then this complicates matters. How come you never complained before when we referred to you as he?

How is it better than Captain America? Are you simply basing that off the visuals and action?? I do think it had better visuals and action but on top of that I thought the villain, Orm was definitely a better villain than Red Skull. The humour was probably a little better in Aquaman. I thought it was a bit more unique a film due to its setting where there's plenty of war movies and the story was more interesting and grander. Plus Captain America threw me off by being a World War 2 movie where they had soldiers firing laser guns at the end. Could have done without that.

Could have done without that. captain america 1 was a cross point in the mcu for things to get better or worse. its a period piece comic film that had little substance.
I cant believe the movie came out in 2011 around the same time as first class another period piece comic film that dealt with the cold war, only thing is the cold war is actually a major part of the plot unlike Capitan America 1 where world war 2 was just a disposable backdrop.
that has always been a problem with mcu story telling. even their so called best like black panther and civil war suffer from this same problems. marvel just cant do deep.
if you say this is better than captain America 1, I believe it. though you forgot age of ultron. one of the worst mcu movies. just awful that film. story, cgi, dialogue, awful, cinematography. age of ultron was just terrible. but hey remember the rt score? it is higher than forrest gump and gladiator. arguably two deserved best picture winners.
at this point saying there is no bias to MCU is a joke.

Well First Class is also above Forrest Gump and Gladiator too so it's the same either way.
And First Class was a better movie than Captain America, that's why it got better reviews.

though first class was as good as a period piece comic film can and should be as gladiator is as good as a medieval drama movie can and should be.
age of ultron is just one of the worst. I dont blame whedon for quiting.

Then why did you bring it up? I didn't mention RT in my post. It's alright, nothing too special though. I wouldn't say it was the worst. The Incredible Hulk was the worst.

I brought up rt to show the uselessness of it again to people. you even once admitted you think mcu has a 7% advantage but i disagreed with you and said it was about a 10-20%. looks like i am right. since everyone thinks aquaman is better than ant man 2 this year.
i still say age of ultron is the worst. from a film-making stand point. hulk still had the talents of ed norton that shined through. infact hulk was quite good until the 3rd arc and explosions with abomination. age of ultron has nothing. it sucks both in cgi and acting.

Aquaman isn't very high but I liked it. Ed Norton was what was wrong with the movie. He was a terrible lead. He's a good actor but he was all wrong for that movie. He seemed bored out of his mind, it made him an uninteresting and unlikable character.

ed had potential to be as iconic as hugh jackman or kevin conroy.
mcu screwed him. they wanted him to play stupid and he said. no thanks. that alone makes him the best hulk since hulk is not meant to be a stupid and goffy character like we saw in thor 3.

Why are you lying? That isn't what happened at all. Even Edward Norton's people said they believe he was dropped because of financial reasons. "This past Wednesday, after several weeks of civil, uncontentious discussions, but before we had come to terms on a deal, a representative from Marvel called to say they had decided to go in another direction with the part. This seemed to us to be a financial decision but, whatever the case, it is completely their prerogative, and we accepted their decision with no hard feelings." It was down to money. Clearly Norton wanted to be paid a certain amount. Marvel thought it must have been too much so they dropped and replaced him like they did with Rhodey.
