Catman leaves fruitcake out for critters to eat.
Most all of them, of course, have the sense to not touch the stuff. Except for the crows. They'll eat anything.

Tell me all your re-gifting stories. No, I've never done it.
I just throw an unwanted gift in the bin.

I never would do such a thing. If someone gives me a gift I don't like, I just say "What the fuck is this supposed to be?" then throw it towards the nearest trash can.

Tell me all your re-gifting stories. I don't have any. Whenever I received a gift (or re-gift) I didn't like, I would just donate it to Goodwill or The Salvation Army.
I remember my uncle used to give me his son's t-shirts that were way too big on me. Even if I couldn't wear it, I'm sure there was somebody out there that needed clothing. I used to fill a box with that and some other stuff around my room collecting dust and dropped it off at the local thrift shops.
But, no, I never re-gifted to anybody.

A friend gave Catman and Catwoman some tangerines for Christmas this year. Catman tried one and found it mostly flavorless except for a bitter aftertaste.
This morning, Catman regifted them to the critters.

I often do it with wine. I receive a lot of alcoholic beverages as gifts and since I know most of them won't be too my liking I re-gift them to others who are not as picky in their tastes.

A co-worker once gave me a gift for my b-day of this awful smelling potpourri. I have no idea why I just didn't throw it out. I left it in its box and re-gifted it for our anonymous Christmas exchange. In an office of about approx 125 people, don't you know that the same co-worker was the one to pick my re-gifted gift.

Yeah, the problem is that you have to remember who gave you the gift you don't like so you don't accidentally re-gift it to the person who gave it to you. That could be a sticky wicket.

I broke my regifting virginity this year and in myltiple instances. When it rains it pours. It's pretty gratifying though. It's like getting an instant liposuction after heavy holiday eating. You bloat up on unwanted gimmicky gifts from well meaning givers, crap involving usb ports, wifi, instructions, and your smartphone. But instead of doing the work of owning it, learning it, and putting it to a respectful level of use and tenure before ultimately discarding it, you get to unload it almost immediately and feel like you've done a good deed to boot.

Yeah, the problem is that you have to remember who gave you the gift you don't like so you don't accidentally re-gift it to the person who gave it to you. That could be a sticky wicket. exactly and in my case that would be the biggest risk. i alway regift alcohol i (simply because I dont drink) and sometimes gifts that i personally find useless to have laying around (or I already own) but can think of a person that could use it. more often than not i will openly tell them it was a gift i got and have no use for and offer if they want it. my worst story re gifts if one year one of my friends wrote a book that became really popular and award wining and all of my other friends not only wanted the book but also wanted me to get him to sign it, which was no problem for me or him. So knowing that, I told people no problw it will be my xmas present to you. So I bought like 7 of the books to give to people and met him and he signed it. i then wrapped it and gave it to people. as i was hastily preparing all of this the Very Very last second before Xmas I noticed one of the books was left unsigned by a mistake. But all of my friends were already expecting it to be signed and were very excited about it. And some of them wanted to give it to their kids. you guessed it, I ended up signing the remaining one myself, carefully copying my friends signature, plotting that i wil get him to sign another one and then exchange it. it now has been several years and i am realizing i completelly forgot to follow up on it. soo... somewhere our there there is a book with my signature faking someone else. but I think the fake signature came out looking pretty real to te naked eye . there you go thats my story.

I forge all of the books I buy as gifts and say it was signed by the author.
