- The six highest paid quarterbacks all missed the playoffs: 1. Aaron Rodgers 2. Matt Ryan 3. Kirk Cousins 4. Jimmy Garoppolo 5. Matthew Stafford 6. Derek Carr
- The Patriots have earned a first round bye for the ninth consecutive season, and the 13th time in Brady's 18 seasons. That's 72.2% of his seasons, 76.5% if you don't count the 2008 injury year. By comparison, Pittsburgh and Denver are tied for second place with five each during the same time period.

Pittsburgh and Denver would've earned just as many 1st-round byes if they got 6 games against 3 weak division foes like the Bills, Dolphins, and Jets every year.

Being the best team in the shittiest division goes a long way toward that end. How would they have done if they were in the NFC North?

Cowherd's been ragging that for weeks. QBs making huge money should take less to get more around them.

I don't know what's funnier, that they missed the playoffs, or that those are the six highest paid QBs.
Not so much a stat but an interesting factoid: Every team the Patriots lost to this season ended up missing the playoffs. Congrats to those teams for shooting their wads and celebrating like they won the Super Bowl because they beat the Patriots in the regular season, only to end up missing the playoffs. Special shoutout to the Steelers who finally beat the Patriots this season, and now have nobody to lose to in the postseason this year. (But we all know the refs are to blame for every Steelers loss ever, so hey. At least they won their last home game this year in front of what looked like a 60% capacity crowd at most.)

Right now the Patriots play the NFC North teams once each every 4 years. How would they do if they had to play the Packers, Bears, Vikings or Lions twice each every year?

What makes you think the win percentage would drop if they played them more frequently? Ok, maybe it would drop to 78.5% ... but that doesn’t really help your case, now does it, chum? The fact is, the Patriots win % is pretty consistent, regardless of which division they play against and their win % against AFC East teams is in the middle of the pack. Would you like a tissue?

“At least they won their last home game this year in front of what looked like a 60% capacity crowd at most.”
I know that’s suppose to be a shot but I shrug my shoulders at it. I’d rather spend 40 dollars at a bar eating and drinking and having a good time while watching the game rather than spending hundreds of dollars to go to the stadium. That’s just me...but I’d imagine I’m not the only one. Doesn’t mean I’m not watching or rooting for them.
