Obvious choice for me is obvious. Few films are as overwhelmingly satisfying as this.

The list is narrowed by the fact that two are bad films (Crash, Million Dollar Baby), four are good but not great (Slumdog, Chicago, Gladiator, A beautiful Mind, ), which leaves ROTK, Hurt Locker, No Country and Departed...The Best of that bunch is The Departed, followed closely by No Country, Hurt Locker and ROTK...

Top: Gladiator, Return of the King, No Country for Old Men.
Followed by: The Departed, The Hurt Locker.
Bottom of the List: Chicago, Slumdog and Crash.
(Million Dollar and Beautiful Mind N/S)

In a weak year for films, Departed-06 and Hurt Locker-09 only won because they got lucky. Had the competition been stronger, they would have fizzled and deservedly so. Scorsese has made better films.

The Departed.
But the best movies from the previous decade were There Will Be Blood, City of God, Frost/Nixon, Doubt, and Gosford Park. It's ridiculous that none of them won Best Picture.

My favorite scene was when DiCaprio and Damon battle it out on the rooftop.

No Country for Old Men (2007) - 9/10
2.Gladiator (2000) - 8/10 3.The Departed (2006) - 7/10
after those three the rest are nothing special.
