They only fired him because they finally have someone even worse on staff - Hue Jackson.

They only fired him because they finally have someone even worse on staff - Hue Jackson. That should have been three years ago after the debacle of the last 1:36 against the Steelers on 1/9/2016. But as it stands, I'm prepared to brown-paper-bag my face next season if the Cleveland coaching hire of 2016 is the Cincinnati coaching hire of 2019. Mike Brown is the worst owner in American pro sports. Still a fact.

Well, I am sure Stephen A. Smith is Happy about that. Why, is there a Marvin Lewis riding the Knicks bench I don't know about?

When I read that Lewis had been the Bengals' coach for 16 years, my 1st thought was "How the fuck did he keep that job for 16 years?"

Finally. Lewis should’ve been fired a couple of years ago, the Bengals have been mediocre throughout his entire tenure, how he kept his job for 16 years without ever winning a playoff game I don’t know. Maybe now the Bengals can start to shake things up and actually compete instead of being the definition of mediocrity.

Maybe now the Bengals can start to shake things up and actually compete instead of being the definition of mediocrity. Answer: the owner is Mike Brown Beating the undefeated Chiefs in '03, Winning the first division title in 15 years in '05, sweeping the rest of the AFC North in '09, I'll take the good with the bad of Lewis's tenure (up until the aforementioned playoff game) versus anything between the years of 1991 through 2002. But that's me.

Marvin Lewis should of been fired a while ago however I do think people forget just how bad the Bengals were before he got there. He did a lot of good things for that franchise and got them a division title and into the playoffs a few times. That tends to buy somebody a lengthy tenure for a franchise that was a laughing stock for so long like the Bengals. Just imagine how long a guy could be employed by the Browns if they were able to make the playoffs a few times.

I've gotta say when he was renewed either last year or the year before I was speechless. One of the most ridiculous decisions made by a ridiculous franchise. Long overdue.

It's been reported that Marvin Lewis is endorsing Hue Jackson to be his successor. On Sky Sports coverage, this was predicted weeks ago. Will Jackson take the reigns in Cincinnati?
