On Christmas morning whenever my parents got up. Sometimes if I asked enough I would get to open one on Christmas Eve.

I never received Christmas presents from my parents. I considered it a Christmas miracle if we had food to eat that day.

When I was a kid, midnight. Then my dad started getting too impatient, so some were opened on Christmas Eve. Then he insisted on them a little earlier and earlier. This past year, he got most of his presents in September.

Christmas morning. I did manage to convince my mom to allow me to open a gift or two one Christmas Eve, and it spoiled Christmas morning so much that I never did that again.

When us kids were older and had completely gotten over Santa Clause ~9 or so, we were allowed to open a couple of gifts right after midnight. Then we had to go to bed and we were allowed to open the rest when we got up --- which was ridiculously early.

Approximately at 5 at christmas eve, right after Christmas dinner. And dinner always starts at 4 o'clock as that is when this kids christmas show ends on tv. And we also got a gift in the stocking on Christmas Eve morning.

Christmas Eve we opened packages, Christmas Day we got our "Santa" gifts. Same. Took me six years to notice Santa Claus and my dad had the same handwriting.

My father would never let us open anything early because he wanted to record everybody on his video camera Christmas morning, but my mother would put a few gifts aside on Christmas Eve so that I could wear myself out playing with new action figures and such, LOL!
The Santa gifts were reserved for Christmas Day, and later came presents from relatives when we celebrated.
Nowadays, I receive a card in the mail from most everybody, but still exchange gifts with my parents.
BTW, I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was around 12 years old. I caught my mother eating the cookies one night on my way to the bathroom. I never said anything because I didn't have the heart to tell her, but she eventually figured it out.

Well...
As a tradition, it was one present on Christmas Eve, and the rest on Christmas morning. Usually after my mom woke up and had her coffee.

Christmas morning, never Christmas Eve.
Then later when we were older and went to "midnight mass" as a family, we would get home around 1am and my mother would say oh okay then, just ONE present, and I'd get something to open before going to bed.
But for the most part it was strictly Christmas morning. If you open them all on Christmas Eve why bother having a Christmas DAY?

Christmas Eve we opened packages, Christmas Day we got our "Santa" gifts. Same here. We got to choose which one to open on Christmas Eve...as long as it wasn't the "big one".
