We don't have any dollar shops where we live but we have had a number of cheap shops like Golo, Crazy Prices, The Reject Shop, Clint's Crazy Bargains and The Box around here and I used to get some craft, stationary, books, plush toys, albums and movies in them and some of them had really cheap albums on CDs and cassettes that had only come out recently but you had to get in quick and go through a heap of other old albums to find them. The thing you had to avoid was the food 'cause a lot of their chocolates and lollies were out of date and I am not just talking about a few weeks or months but YEARS and I remember one of the Golo stores was selling chocolate blocks that were used by 1996 and 1997 in 2002 and it wasn't until the Health Inspectors closed them down for a while they got rid of it.

I'm glad you said that Deb. Chocolate is one thing that I never look at the dates on. I wouldn't want to buy something that's been sitting around for 20 years!

Our equivalent of a dollar store is The Reject Shop and from there I get batteries for my remote control, toothpaste, as it’s cheaper than the supermarkets (you can tell as it has Thai writing on it, which means they must’ve bought it in bulk cheaply – even though it’s probably the same product), permanent markers, ready meals, blank DVDs if they’re cheap enough. Matchbox cars for my nephew.

Wine glasses. They have all different qualities. I recently found four matching thick stemless glasses there. Was worth $4.

Hey wait, that's kinda cool... That's not even one of the more impressive examples.
As a child, my parents bought a bottle of naturally-coloured sand that was divided into very distinctive bands.
I believe it originated from a beach-side town up in northern NSW or perhaps Queensland.

Always make sure you check the date on food you get from the shop Jayman especially in cheap shops 'cause you never know how old it is and there are shops that don't care if they rip their customers off or make them sick and only care about making money. In our old local Video Ezy store they were selling Darrell Lea products like jelly beans, jelly babies and jubes that were months out of date at one point and the owner of the place didn't care and only replaced them when a new lot came in which was every few months.
