Some candidates for me - Jordan, Gretzky, Ruth, Brodeur, Curry, Brady, Federer. Maywether is an asshole, but his career and earnings are pretty damn good.

Nick Maxwell: played for Collingwood his whole career, was involved in one of the greatest plays of all time to set up one of the greatest Grand Final finishes of all time and, as captain, lifted the premiership cup.
"Nick runs in from 55 out. This is for bragging rights about 12 schooners deep at around 2am this morning I'd imagine. Oh how sweet it is! Nothing's beyond them today!"

I'd pick Joe DiMaggio. He was generally beloved as a player, played his entire career for one team, won 9 World Series, is in the Hall of Fame, and banged Marilyn Monroe. Joe D is generally considered to have been an a-hole though, and didn’t he have to fight in WWII? I’ll take Jeter’s quantity over one Marilyn Monroe. Also, everyone banged Marilyn Monroe; Joe was dumb enough to marry her. I think I banged her at some point and I wasn't even alive yet.

Joe was booed by Yankee fans until he streak in 1941. He held out one season. And he wasn't Lou Gehrig. Mantle got the same treatment because he wasn't DiMaggio. DiMaggio supposedly beat the living shit out of his first wife. He would have thumped Norma Jean but he didn't dare to. And he played ball in WWII. Might as well have stayed with the Yankees. He was a surly shit too. But he made a mean cup of coffee.
Best Marilyn-Joe story. When Monroe came back from entertaining troops in Korea. She rhapsodized about her reception and said "Oh Joe, you have never heard such cheering" To which he replied "Oh yes. I have". Duh Marilyn...
Figures, Anne Hathaway Fan aspires to be a woman-beating surly jerk. What are the odds?!

Probably Derek Jeter. He’s generally beloved as a player, played his entire career for one team, won several World Series, will be in the hall of fame, and banged just about every hot chick there ever was. Jeter also, very wisely, bans the use of all cell phones inside his palace down in St. Pete (aka "St Jetersburg"), other than his own. Easiest way to avoid whole heaps of trouble.

Any of Brett Favre's third string quarterbacks.
Never have to play and still make good money.

Looking it up I think I had Curtis Painter in my head (but couldn't think of his name). However he wasn't there a decade like I thought. Sorgi appears to be the guy that was in the position the longest. I guess they all just melded into one person in my head.

This was a bit hard for me. I think about it and the first 2 that come to mind would be either Derek Jeter or Tom Brady. They both are highly successful and Jeter on top of it hooked up with people like Jessica Alba in their primes. While Brady is married to Gisele (sorry but barf imo) so that's a negative on Brady. With Jeter I'd never want to live in New York or play for the Yankees so if I'm thinking of somebody I want to be it isn't really him. With Brady I wouldn't want to deal with Belichick on a daily basis nor would I really want to be Tom Brady outside of his money and rings. So I had to think of somebody that would be viewed on par as those guys as far as being a GOAT (ok sorry but Jeter doesn't really fit this but you get what I mean) in their own profession but also actually enjoy living their life and having the career that they did. So my choice is a bit outside the box but I'm going with Professional Wrestler, WWE Superstar, The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. Considered to be the GOAT by his co workers and is held in high esteem by wrestling fans. I'd be winning championships, performing top notch matches in front of thousands of people as well as stealing shows at WrestleMania after WrestleMania. On top of that, I'm traveling the country with my best buds (The Kliq) like rockstars boozed and drugged up just having a blast. Then when I'm old and *cough* retired *cough* I'd still be around the thing that I love by working with the guys in NXT which is a fucking amazing product.

If I had a 2nd choice really, it would be Mickey Mantle. While I hate the Yankees with a passion I have always been fascinated with Mickey Mantle as a player and as a story. If he took care of himself he could have been the greatest player in history bare none. Much like how I love listening/reading stories about Shawn Michaels I love listening/reading stories about Mickey Mantle. Talk about Legends.
