I love being late to the party. I'm all caught up now with the broadcast.
So I'm satisfied with some of the following results:
Roma for both Best Director and BFLF (congrats, Cuarón and nice speech!) Mahershala Ali for Best Supporting Actor in Green Book Best Screenplay for Green Book over Roma? Uh, sure. I'm also a bit OK with Green Book receiving BMP in Musical or Comedy. It's a decent film, but it will probably receive its share of backlash soon given its presentation and controversy. Wasn't really expecting Bohemian Rhapsody to win BMP at all.... but whatever, HFPA. Spider-verse sounds like a given (still haven seen it yet) Regina King For Best Supporting Actress also kinda sound like a given (also wanted to see) A Star is Born is a bit given for Best Song
And the rest I can't really comment on since I haven't seen most of the nominations so far.

Elsie Fisher getting harassed on Twitter. That's not good.

Honestly, I expected Black Panther to win before Bohemian Rhapsody. I think I'll have better luck in Vegas after this. Or A Star is Born

Wait a minute, wasn't there some Carol Burnett tribute at one of these award shows not long ago? You mean the Lifetime Achievement SAG Award back in 2015? I haven't seen Green Book. Did Ali at least do something this time? He didn't in Moonlight. What?! He was great in MOONLIGHT. In GREEN BOOK. I liked his performance more than Sam and Adam's actually. How many of the voters do you think have seen any of those foreign films? Less than 5 would be my guess. Considering they're the Hollywood Foreign Press Association... All of them. While they're small releases, it's not that hard to watch them. They get screeners. Also, one of them is already on Netflix. hadn't he hosted something else before two or three years ago? Critics choice or something like that? The Emmys. Given the #TimesUp movement, I'm not surprised director Bryan Singer wasn't there or congratulated by Rami Malek or the producers when they won their Globes. I'm pretty sure it's because he was fired from the movie. Deacon has not been involved with the band and its enterprises for years. linkAnd I do not believe that he was involved with the film. Therefore, Malek's failure to acknowledge him is somewhat understandable, but I completely concur that if Deacon was going to attend the Golden Globes (as he did), he deserved to be mentioned. I don't think it's a failure. Speeches are personal. Rami was only supposed to thank those he felt helped him win (including his family and friends, who didn't work in the movie). Hell, he probably hasn't even met John in person.

Yeah, Singer and Rami Malek didn't get along during the filming of the movie, but still he did two-thirds of the film which justifies his credit as director according to the Directors Guild of America.

Hell, he probably hasn't even met John in person. He directed all but 2 weeks of the movie but that isn’t any reason to be personally thanked. His acknowledgements should be professional at best unless honest. Still a biopic isn’t necessarily about the direction but the story and performances.

His acknowledgements should be professional at best unless honest. Not getting thanked isn't the same as saying "He wasn't the true director" during the speech or something like that. He got the credit he deserved. Literally. It's on the opening credits. And we don't know if he wasn't invited. Maybe he declined because he didn't want confrontations. If speeches were meant to be that way, winners would omit anyone who didn't work in the movie and they would try to mention as many names as possible rather than say "the cast and the crew."
