Europa League runners-up Marseille suffered an embarrassing defeat in the French Cup as they were beaten by fourth-division Andrezieux. Goals from Bryan-Clovis Ngwabije and Florian Milla secured victory in a match moved to St-Etienne because Andrezieux's ground was too small. Top-flight Marseille are now without a win in all competitions in seven games. Coach Rudi Garcia, whose side are out of both domestic cups and the Europa League, called the loss "unacceptable". "Well done to Andrezieux, who showed that they were a team that wanted it and fought together, something that we desperately lacked," he added. Marseille, sixth in French Ligue 1, had 28 shots on goal but failed to make them count and were punished by their lowly opponents on what Garcia said was a "very bad day". www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46777667

On Saturday, Montpellier, currently riding high in the league in fourth place, conceded in stoppage time to lose 1-0 at third-tier side Entente SSG. Angers also lost to an amateur side, beaten 1-0 by 6th-tier Viry-Chatillon, while Nimes Olympique were hammered 3-0 by Lyon Duchere. Among the Ligue 1 clubs who did manage to qualify for the next round were Olympique Lyonnais, who beat lower league Bourges 2-0, and Stade de Reims, who beat Lens by the same scoreline. Bottom club Guingamp won 4-2 away at Stade Pontivyen, while second-bottom AS Monaco also got a rare win, knocking out Canet Roussillon 1-0 away from home. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6562725/Andrezieux-2-0-Marseille-Shock-French-Cup-win-amateur-side.html

The kind of game that without knowing the score you would guess the winner wrong simply from looking at the stats.
