That's crazy. This is a low (to mid-) budget horror film with zero stars attached. I know that many people love the book (myself included) but I had no idea there was so much interest in this film. Now I really, really hope it's good and becomes a huge hit. collider.com/it-movie-trailer-record/

There's always interest in something with Stephen King's name attached. Plus, "It" is a very beloved story.

Stephen King's imagination has always been ahead of his time. It's about time that the film industry catches up to King's vision of horror in a visual sense.
This trailer looks good. Some of those scenes are nearly exactly the way it was written in the novel. Beautiful.

I didn't think I had any interest in seeing this film until I saw the trailer. That trailer looked creepy as all hell and I'm into it. Never saw the originals with Tim Curry as I never cared to and thought they looked dumb. If I like this remake I might just go back and watch those.

I think people want to see this interesting story done better than the first go round...(Which was not the fault of Tim Curry, who was flawless as always...)

You're absolutely right, and it's simply mindboggling how Hollywood effed up most of King's books (sadly, often with King's blessing or even direct involvment). Yet whenever directors really made faithful adpatations of King's books (by faithful I mean: they made a film about believable, compelling characters which just happen to end up in highly unusual circumstances), those films turned out as critically acclaimed classics and were in almost all cases very successful financially. And it's not just 'The Shawshank Redemption', 'The Green Mile', 'Misery' or 'Stand By Me' that are all about the human drama: all of King's books are. So regardless what kind of King book you're trying to make, you always have to focus on the characters. The moment an adaptation solely concentrates on the horror or sci-fi aspects, it's doomed, because that's just not how those stories work.

The miniseries was a mess in my opinion. Hopefully this version will be better.

On top of that, most of the response I've sen has been positive. Sure you have your "not my Pennywise" crowd, but mostly it's been good. I'd go as far as saying it was my favorite trailer so far this year. It was a huge relief after some of the doubts I had about he production to see a trailer that was really good.

The miniseries form 1990 is one of those "you had to be there at the time" sort of things. I have a lot of nostalgia for it, but I admit that if I'd seen it for the first time today I probably woudln't have liked it.

If I had the know-how and tools to just together the kid portions of the mini-series and watch that, I would.

Nice! It's a great book - hopefully the films do it justice.

yeah, horror is gaining popularity again. I think horror had its best year in decades in 2016.

yeah, horror is gaining popularity again. I think horror had its best year in decades in 2016. And if Get Out qualifies as horror, 2017 seems to continue the trend. Alien Covenant looks to be more sci-fi horror than sci-fi action, so if that turns out good as well, we could be in for two great years in a row, if IT also succeeds.

I didn't see anything about it until I was like 16 or so and it looked dumb I can dig it. I remember watching this on TV when it came out and really freaking me out. Made me interested to check out the novel, which I really enjoyed. A "Jurassic Park" style experience...much darker in the book. Was never really freaked out by clowns, but Tim Curry's performance was amazing...I wondered how they would top it. As a fan of this story, I'm glad to see that its re-imagination is getting such attention from viewers. I went from biting my nails to getting pretty pumped to see it.
