I can't believe why some people on here think you 'funny'
Yeah... But, you're a dumb twat.. So what you think is funny is irrelevant.... IRONY! You're just pissed that nobody thinks you're funny... Hell... I seriously doubt anybody really takes you seriously... at all. Isn't it pudding night at the home? You better run along... Ethel will take all of the tapioca before you can get any. I'm sure there are... They just show that faith healing is bull shit.

I'm pointing out that their experience doesn't cease to exist in the face of those statistics. Saying that their experience isn't real because they don't coincide with the statistics is the fallacy... Citing that they are not alone... is still a fact... Good thing nobody did it.

You agree.

I wouldn't call the quotes in the OP "articles". I prefer calling them "results of extensive quote-mining". Some were from smart and influential people; but they don't contain much hard data. None at all, in fact. These quotes are mostly quotes about how people felt about before and after 1914. I am not disputing that some people feel bad about before and after 1914. You seem to be an example for them. What none of these quotes says or pretends to say, is that the world today is worse off than the world before 1914. looking4klingons I wouldn't worry too much about this asshat's opinion... He just spent the last 2 pages pretending that the very real possibility of a nuclear exchange doesn't exist because it was brought by a religious person. It's a good bet that if you (or any other theist) were to start a thread about how God has blessed the 20th & 21st century with ever-increasing peace and prosperity... he'd be on it with those very same links (or ones very much like them) claiming that you're nuts because the world is going to hell in a handbasket. He's just that kind of asshole. Got it! Lol. Funny, but sad in a way, too. Take care, Vegas.

But if you prefer to take Vegas 's opinion at face value, then I'm not stopping you.

Got it! Lol. Funny, but sad in a way, too. Take care, Vegas. I asked you a perfectly reasonable question. I'll ask again. What century before the 20th century you would argue that, on a world wide average, people were better off than today?

“The Last Days” — Have They Begun?
I'm checking the TV listings now. If you're in the Eastern Standard zone you should just have time to catch the opening credits if you don't take too long fixing that sandwich.

There is no real answer to Isapop 's question... Sure we live in the most advanced century to date.. but there are always Pluses and Minuses to everything... This current age has plenty of Pluses... I would much rather live now than at any point in the past... but those Pluses come at a cost... The Minuses of this current age just include the potential to end our existence... and/or these pluses could crash at any moment... ....and we'd be far, far worse off than any other generation that knew how to live without technology. This is the best house of cards that we have ever built.

Any other. Unfortunately, they're all dead now. So, you casually answer "Any other" when I ask you what century was better for people before the 20th century.
Your apparent ease and willingness in displaying your ignorance indicate that you actually take some pride in being ignorant.

This is the best house of cards that we have ever built. Idk. Family life now on average is worse than it ever was! (Both parents have to work...kids get ignored.) There's not much love between family members, like there used to be. The OP quotes from those who were there, who saw the difference, pre-1914 & after. As far as war goes, there are no conflicts between major countries, because it's as you said....MAD is the deterrent. (Didn't you say that?) But the hatreds are still there. And STD's are prolific! Colossians 3:5-6 is an interesting passage, informing us that Jehovah's wrath is coming, not necessarily because of war or crime, but because of other reasons. (Hope you'll look it up.)
