If these trolls nitpicked DC movies like this, these threads would be 150 pages long. Heavy SPOILER twist: You are the biggest troll here - seemingly the only one who does not contribute argument but derails with whiny deflections. Even your MCU troll colleagues Skathar and King Kong Brady contributed reasonably, why not you? This is hilarious. I am the biggest troll here? I cannot make this stuff up if I tried. I have contributed. DC Fan has been proven wrong countless times on pretty much every post he ever posts. Every MCU movie is a 1/10 before he ever even sees it. He is a troll and not worth arguing with anymore. You are a very similar poster. Jealousy is strong with you. Infinity War is better than any DCEU movie ever made and that is a fact.

Still, how in the world, uh universe, Thor could find the exact spot in Wakanda is still literally Deus ex Machina and requires your good will speculation and incredibly convenient coincidences. What do mean, “exact spot”? Thor simply followed the alien spaceships down to Wakanda. The rebel meeting did not provide the exact coordinates of the trench. We can presume that data was downloaded to the fighters that were specifically involved in the attack ... though we didn’t actually see it happen, so I guess that’s a “plot hole”. Han Solo would not have been privy to that information since he was a civilian who was bugging out with his loot. In all likelihood he simply followed the rebel spaceships down to the trench at the exact moment the plot needed him to save the day. (Sound familiar?) And, there was no way Han Solo could have known which ship was Luke’s ... unless he was using a “GPS” ... or some other conveniently contrived made up technology that the script never specifically mentioned. The similarities between the circumstances of Thor’s arrival and Han Solo’s arrival are obvious. If you want to dump on IW then you’re going to have to throw SW under the bus too. Don’t hurt yourself trying to nit-pick your way out of it.

The Bifrost magical pinpointing wasn’t solely due to Heimdall’s senses. Skurge took on his post in Ragnarok. He heard Thor’s call to be brought back from Muspelheim despite Thor being absent since Heimdall was at his post. Skurge sent Thor and Loki to Earth to find Odin and could hear Thor and Loki calling to be brought back from Earth upon meeting Hela. Also, when Hela came back alone, Skurge was mopping up dragon innards while the Warriors 3 (was it Volstagg?) operated the sword-key.
So I think operating the Bifrost at all taps into the dark magic that makes it so cool and plot-convenient, meaning Stormbreaker allows Thor to use this ability.
Plus, it’s totally vague, but Thor is now the All-Father, which should traditionally mean being all-seeing, all-knowing, and aware of past and future events. So some semblance of that could be at work here.

IW is a bad screen play with several TV episodes strung together loosely and leads disappearing for 30min, and lowbrow dialogue about shooting a ball-sacks of a chin out of the CGI-villain's face. But that's my opinion, I bet you love that. Dropped your hammer there Champ. No need to cry like Thor when getting a haircut.

So some semblance of that could be at work here. 🤷♂️ Skurge was using the observatory which grants the user a magnified view of the 9 realms. From what I understand theres only 2 ways to transport yourself to a desired location using the bifrost 1) Have the gatekeeper use the bifrost (using the rainbow bridge + observatory) to direct you to a certain location. The observatory grants you a map so dont need special abilites. Examples are Skurge who uses it. 2) without the observatory and rainbow bridge, have someone summon enough dark energy to initiate the bifrost. Odin and Heimdall both have done this. Thor as well with Stormbrraker. Heimdall was the perfect gatekeeper because he could see and hear everything better than any Asgardian. If Thor in IW had no idea where Thanos was in the universe then he could not get to him using Stormbrraker, even though he could transport anywhere. Only Heimdall would have known where Thanos was. But this topic has been answered since Thor had a good guess Thanos would be on earth soon.

Thor didn’t know the exact location of Thanos. Thanos was on Titan when Thor arrived on Earth. It was established that Thor knew Thanos would be coming to Earth at some point to retrieve two of the infinity stones when Thor said that two of the infinity stones were on Earth. That is why Thor went to Earth. As Thor was bifrosting his way to Earth, he must have seen those giant spaceships descending upon the planet from space. You know, the same manner in which Han Solo saw Luke Skywalkers tiny little spaceship against the backdrop of the big Death Star. Simple. sounds more reasonable than the OdinSight, OdinForce and magic-did-it explanations. Without further review I would declassify this as a blatant plot convenience instead of a plot hole. Still, how in the world, uh universe, Thor could find the exact spot in Wakanda is still literally Deus ex Machina and requires your good will speculation and incredibly convenient coincidences (lol: the term comes from Greek drama where at the end of plays suddenly a God appears and resolves a desperate situation). Ergo: DC Fans GPS model still seems the most reasonable explanation for what happened. Admittedly, all this is just a nitpick and the least of the screenplay's problems. Btw, the reference to Star Wars ANH is detrimental: Here we have some sound explanations for the plot convenience set within the exposition context. (i) Han Solo knew exactly where Luke was: Han/Chewie attended the Rebel meeting where the trench run attack was explicitly discussed and shown on video (and Han rolled his eyes). (ii) Han/Chewi were in control of the Falcon spaceship and experienced outer space pilots. (iii) They could follow the Rebel radio chatter to understand what's going on during the attack. (iii) They knew exactly where to head (trench on Death Star) via the (famed) navigational system of the Falcon Han bragged about. (iv) Also we know from ANH that the Falcon has detection sensors (radar-dish) to detect other ships such as Ties long before the eye can see them. QED. This is "simple", your plot convenience is an inconvenient stretch. If you have problems with plot inconvenience, then you really must hate BvS.

but but....magic! deus ex machina! How did Thor know the exact location where Thanos was? Did you even see the movie? Thanos was not on Earth when Thor arrived. He hadn't even arrived on Titan yet.

but but....magic! deus ex machina! King Kong's explanation is childishly naive (Earth is big) and seems not to be in the movie. Without GPS you could search a small object on Earth for decades. Not surprising that King Kong Shady would come up with such a ridiculously naïve explanation considering that King Kong Shady still believes the just as ridiculously naïve excuse that Tom Brady's equipment guy called himself "The Deflator" because he was trying to lose weight and not because he was illegally deflating footballs for Shady Brady to use in games. LOL!!! I know many co-workers who constantly say they want to lose weight. None of them have ever called themselves "The Deflator". Only a naïve child would believe such a lame excuse.

Don't know what all this fuss is about. Thor knew 2 infinity stones were on Earth so it's common sense he would go to earth. As to how he knew to go directly to Wakanda, well, he controls the bifrost now, one would assume he would at least be able to view his intended destination before actually bifrosting there, otherwise he might end up underwater or inside a volcano.
A better question to ask would be how Ebony Maw/Cull Obsidian knew where Dr. Strange was or that he had the stone and same with Glaive/Proxima with Vision.

Not surprising that King Kong Shady would come up with such a ridiculously naïve explanation The hilarious thing about Always Wrong is that when he isn’t busy being wrong himself (a rare occasion), he’ll find a way to piggyback on someone else being wrong. Tristan’s mischaractorization of my statement is what was “naive”... as I pointed out in a follow-up post. Two birds with one stone! ... and the second bird flew into the stone, on purpose!

Controlling the bifrost doesnt make you see what's happening millions of light years away. Thats only done by Heimdall or someone who uses the Observatory like Skurge. The only reasonable explanation that Thor knew why to go to Wakanda is if he saw spaceships crashing down onto Wakanda at the same time he was approaching Earths atmosphere through the bifrost. In which case its a lucky coincidence of timing. Ebony Maw would have had some form of technology on the spaceship to detect/sense the infinity stones. Or Thanos could sense their presence with his own infinity power gem and instruct.

Does he just say "Wakanda" and it automatically picks a random field in Wakanda to Bifrost him to? Maybe you think he needs to enter coordinates into it first?

I assume the bifrost knows where midgard is automatically and sets him on that route. As thors riding on it like a surfboard he could change its specific direction as he pleases when his field of view becomes clearer the closer he gets to earth. So he can land in London or Wakanda
