it was near 70 down here in Alabama on Monday & Tuesday. but yesterday and today has been windy, chilly, and cold. brrrrrrr we will probably have a few more patches of warmth around Late Feb/Mid-March. but it appears Winter has finally set in for the next few weeks of January I was walking around in my flip flops late Tuesday evening. but I spent all day yesterday and today in sweatshirts and sweatpants
that's how Alabama weather is usually when folks in Colorado and Washington are still seeing things like snow and ice in the months of March & April. we are usually getting ready for Summer by then

Started out around 45 or so this morning and warmed up to about high 60s this afternoon. Welcome to Gulf Coast Texas! If it wasn't so damp all the time Winters here would be fabulous.

It was brutally hot yesterday. It was around 40 degrees Celsius, or 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
It's currently 0500 hours in the morning and it already feels like it's close to 30 degrees Celsius, or 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
It's going to be another brutally hot day today.

And I can't say I've ever had any experience with snow.

I'd switch with you in a heartbeat... except I don't want to live in a barren desert! Because you live in the outback!
LOL! HA! I slay myself!

Cold as balls is one of slang expressions that don't make any sense whatsoever but sound vaguely funny so Americans say it. Curiously, I first heard it from a girl.
Snow is semi-frozen water. Falls from the sky as tiny flakes during winter in cold climes. I wouldn't think there was any... in the outback!

No, I actually live within sight of the southern coast of Australia.
I can see the ocean when I stand at the end of my driveway. I can also see farmland and the Flinders Ranges from the end of my driveway, or out my kitchen window.
The outback is quite some way away. It's not called the wide brown land without reason.

I know what snow is, I've just never encountered any.
And it falls annually in certain areas of Australia.
Most notably in the Snowy Mountains.

Wait, if you're that far down doesn't that part of the country get cold? Cold enough to ever get snow?

Wait, if you're that far down doesn't that part of the country get cold? Cold enough to ever get snow? Not in my lifetime. Although I did hear a rumour that it once snowed in the mountains surrounding the state capital, but I think that was decades ago.
The Snowy Mountains are over in the eastern states.
And if it snows in Tasmania, I wouldn't be surprised, because it sits south of the mainland.

Although I was born in Victoria and grew up all over the country, that's the area where I came of age.
It's also my local area now.
Most of the WOLF CREEK productions were made in South Australia, with some work done in northern WA or NT.

In New Orleans today highs in the low 60s, blue skies, relatively dry.
I don't know about the rest of the state. But being that New Orleans is in the south and surrounded by water, the rest of the state is generally a little cooler.
